Ms. Yang Yuhuan is a Falun Gong practitioner from Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. She was arrested by the police from Baoan Police Station while distributing informational materials about Falun Gong on May 12th. Seven days later, on May 19th, policemen from Baoan Police Station and Guta Police Sub-bureau of Jinzhou City conspired together and sent her to the notorious Masanjia Forced Labour Camp to serve a one year sentence.
When Ms. Yang's family went to see her towards the end of May, the labour camp officials refused to let them see her because she had not been transformed. In reality, the labour camp was trying to cover up the abuses they had brought against her.
Before Ms. Yang practised Falun Gong, she suffered from septicaemia, rheumatism, and toothache. She had open chest surgery due to pulmonary oedema and pleural effusion. All the medication she took didn't improve her condition. Furthermore, she lost her job and got a divorce. With nowhere to go, Ms. Yang and her child went to stay at her parent's home. She felt miserable.
Since Ms. Yang started practising Falun Gong, she has tried her best to follow the standard of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, to be considerate of others and to look inward when conflicts arise. A few days after practising Falun Gong, her toothache went away and she was able eat cold food again. Her teeth no longer felt loose. Soon after, her illnesses went away and she regained her health and strength. She works as a street vendor to support her son who is currently in middle school. Every month, she still needs to purchase food and medicine for her mother who had suffered a stroke.
