On June 21st, 2010, Ms. Wang Guofang, an accountant at the Jilin Huadian Bureau of Education Capital Construction Office, was arrested by three police officers and one plainclothes officer led by 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) chief Yang Baolin. Ms. Wang was taken to the Changchun City Brainwashing Centre.
At approximately 11:30 a.m. that day, Ms. Wang was stopped by officers near her Huadian Bureau of Education workplace. The officers said, "Falun Gong materials were found in your cabinet. You come with us." Ms. Wang asked, "Why did you search my things? Why should I go with you?" The police officers did not give an explanation and forced her into the vehicle.
Ms. Wang Guofang, between 47 and 48 years old, began practising Falun Gong in 1996 and served one year of forced labour in 1999 for appealing for the right to practise Falun Gong.
In October 2004, Ms. Wang was arrested on her way to Beijing, imprisoned for the second time, and subsequently tortured in Changchun Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp. Her term was completed in October 2006, but police officer Li Ying and others from the No. 1 Brigade of the labour camp extended her term several times because she refused to renounce her belief. Her family made several efforts to obtain her release, and she was finally let go at the end of 2006.
On October 8th, 2008, she was arrested again without reason by officers from Xinhua Police Station, who colluded with the bureau directors where she worked. She was held in Huadian City Detention Centre again and later released.
