Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Du Liming is from Yitong County, Jilin Province. When local court officials tried her in court on September 10th, 2010, an ambulance was waiting outside the court building. Her family learned that Ms. Du was sent to the Yitong County Chinese Medicine Hospital for emergency treatment a few days later, and that she is in critical condition.

Ms. Du was arrested on July 11th as she distributed Falun Gong DVDs on the street in Yidan Town. Officers from the Yitong Domestic Security Division, headed by Wang Yingchao, made the arrest. She was then held in the Yitong County Detention Centre. The whereabouts of her child, who happens to have learning difficulties and needs significant attention, are unknown. Jitong Court officials, under orders from the local 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), then tried Ms. Du on September 10th. Earlier that day, local police prevented Ms. Du's lawyers from defending her and sent them back to Beijing. Ms. Du was driven in a police van to the back door of the court on the day of the hearing, and an ambulance followed close behind. After the trial, the ambulance followed the police van to the detention centre where Ms. Du was held. Two police officers dragged Ms. Du out of the van and into her cell. Ms. Du had been severely abused under the persecution.

Ms. Du's family recently learned that she was sent to the Yitong County Chinese Medicine Hospital for emergency treatment and is in critical condition. Her family went to the court and related departments on September 20th to demand her release, but guards at the gate blocked them from entering. Her family called the detention centre to inquire about Ms. Du's condition, but detention centre head Li Guang said that she was fine.

Ms. Du's family and friends are extremely worried about her safety.
