Ms. Li Caina and Ms. Li Suting from Raoyang County, Hebei Province, Arrested and Detained

Raoyang County Domestic Security Division officer Gao Jianxi and others recently arrested Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Li Caina and Ms. Li Suting, and are holding them in the Raoyang County Detention Centre.

Ms. Li Caina's Daughter Asked, "Where is my mother?"

"Daddy, where is mum?" This was the first sentence that Yuanyuan, a third-grade elementary school student, asked her father when she returned home from school on Sunday. Her father, Mr. Liu, looked at his lovely daughter with tears in his eyes and said, "Mother is working part time, and she can't come home right now." Yuanyuan believed what he said and left.

Mr. Liu didn't have the heart to tell his daughter the truth. He will never forget the day--October 15th, 2010, when he and his wife, Ms. Li Caina, went to their field to plant wheat. His wife returned home early. When he arrived at home, he found that his wife was gone, and his home had been ransacked and was in a mess. Someone told him that Raoyang County Police Department officer Gao Jianxi and others arrested his wife and confiscated her copy of the Falun Gong book, Zhuan Falun, and a computer that they had recently bought.

Mr. Liu doesn't know how long that he can hide what happened from his daughter. If Yuanyuan asks him next Sunday and then the next, "Daddy, where is mum?" how will he answer her?

Ms. Li Caina's Arrest

Ms. Li Caina is a resident in Nanhan Village, Liman Township, Raoyang County, Hebei Province. Five to six officers led by Gao Jianxi from the Raoyang County Domestic Security Division arrested her on October 15th. Participating in the arrest were officers from the Liman Township Police Station and village officer Liu Xiongfei. Ms. Li is in the Raoyang County Detention Centre.

Ms. Li Suting Arrested, Her Family Worried

Officers from the Liman Township Police Station, under the orders of Gao Jianxi, the Raoyang County Domestic Security Division officer, arrested Ms. Li Suting from Nanhan Village. Prior to this arrest, this same group of people harassed her at home twice and unsuccessfully attempted to arrest her. This time, they took Ms. Li to the Raoyang County Detention Centre, where she is now being held.

Ms. Li Suting, 55, suffered from tuberculous pleurisy when she was 17 years old. Injections for the condition resulted in her not being able to walk normally. The medicine she took injured her stomach. She suffered from tuberculous after she got married. On top of that, she fell from a tractor in April 1998, which left her spine permanently bent. Her condition was so painful that she was unable to straighten her lower back. Fortunately she was introduced to Falun Gong several months later, and her illnesses subsequently disappeared. She used to be hot tempered, but after practising Falun Gong, she became kind and considerate.

After the Chinese Communist regime started the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Ms. Li was arrested four times and twice had 5,000 yuan¹ extorted from her. She lived away from home to avoid the persecution for more than a month. The township police station officers ransacked her home and harassed her on all the Party holidays. She has also been intimidated and threatened numerous times.
