Mr. Mou Zongyan and Ms. Wang Yun from Rizhao City, Shandong Province were arrested one year ago. They have been detained in the Rizhao Detention Centre. Without notifying their families, the Donggang District Court of Rizhao sentenced them to four years in prison. The two practitioners have appealed the sentence.
Mr. Mou Zongyan was an employee at the Rizhao Port Authority Bureau. On January 14th, 2010, he was taken away from his office by personnel from the Rizhao 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and the Rizhao Port Authority Bureau. That day, more than ten practitioners were arrested one after another, including Ms. Wang Yun, Ms. Hong Meishuang, Ms. Gao Xiuhua, Ms. Li Guiqin, Mr. Wang Youxian, Ms. Liu Hairong, Mr. Li Yanting, Ms. Ding Yinyu, Mr. Mai Dazhi and Ms. Yan Dongmei.
Among those practitioners, Mr. Li Yanting and Ms. Gao Xiuhua were sent to a forced labour camp for one year. Ms. Gao Xiuhua has been released. Ms. Liu Hairong was forced to become homeless and destitute in order to avoid further persecution. Mr. Mou Zongyan and Ms. Wang Yun have been held in the detention centre for more than nine months. Without notifying their families, the Donggang District Court of Rizhao City held a court session against them on October 27th, 2010.
Another practitioner, Ms. Ding Xi, was sentenced to one year of forced labour. On January 19th, she was transferred to a forced labour camp from the Chengbei Detention Centre. Her mother, Ms. Zhang Ping, is being detained at the Jinan Women's Forced Labour Camp. On November 10th, 2010, officers from the Qinlou Police Station arrested another practitioner, Ms. Qian Chun, and sentenced her to two years in a forced labour camp. Now she has been transferred to the Rizhao Detention Centre. At that time, Zhang Xuyong, Shen Bin and Li Qiang from the Qinlou Police Station attended the court session against Qian Chun.
