Ms. Gao Jinling died in 2003 as a result of physical abuse during her detention. We have now obtained more information about her death.

Ms. Gao lived in Shatuozi Village, Dongjingling Town, in the Taizihe District in Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province. After she began to practise Falun Gong in 1997, all her illnesses disappeared. Then, when the persecution started in July 1999, Ms. Gao went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. After returning home, she was sentenced to forced labour for two and a half years.

After Ms. Gao returned home, police officials continued to harass her. As a result, she was forced to stay away from home. Ms. Gao Jinling died in 2003 as a result of physical abuse during her detention. While exposing the persecution of Falun Gong when visiting her hometown in 2003, someone reported her to the police, who seized her and forced her into a police van. In her mind she concentrated on not letting the police move her. As a result, the four agents working together could not get her into the van for a long time. In the end, they beat her brutally and finally put her in the van.

Without following any legal procedures, the police took Ms. Gao directly to Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. However, after a physical, the labour camp officials would not accept her. The police had no choice but to take her back home. Four agents, whose names need to be confirmed, were involved in the death of Ms. Gao.

In 2003, the head of the Dongjingling Town Police Station was Wang Qiang and the political head’s surname was Li. These two officials were very vicious. They ransacked practitioners’ homes, extorted money from them, and are responsible for many practitioners' deaths.
