Ms. Tian Xiufen, a Falun Gong practitioner, is a mother of three. She has been persecuted frequently by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She was arrested on September 7th, 2009 by the city police, and was then taken to a forced labour camp. She wasn't released until August 24th, 2010. The night after her release, several police officers harassed her at home.
The following is Ms. Tian's personal account of persecution at the Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labour Camp, and additional persecution by police in Huanghua.
At 7:00 p.m. on September 7th, 2009, my son and I were about to make dinner when Huanghua Public Security Bureau Vice Squad captain Han Huanhua, officers Liu Caiming and Zhao Lijun, and the Domestic Security Division chief ransacked our home. They confiscated a computer, printer, recorder, mobile phone, MP3 player, a copy of the Falun Gong book (Zhuan Falun) and informational materials about Falun Gong.
I was arrested that evening and detained at the Public Security Bureau, and guarded by four officers. At 10:00 p.m., my brother arrived to request my release, but his request was refused. At midnight, the 610 Office chief came and instructed his aides to monitor me closely. My brother came again at dawn, but his request for my release was again denied. I was taken to the Yanshan Detention Centre on the afternoon of September 8th, accused of being in possession of Falun Gong materials. I wasn't allowed to see my children until October 2nd, when officials told me that I would be released on October 7th.
As everyone knows, the CCP never keeps its promises. The police took me to Cangzhou on October 19th without notifying my family, where they secretly transferred me to the Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labour Camp. I was detained there for one year, and finally released on August 24th, 2010.
I was held in solitary confinement at the forced labour camp that night. Seven days later, I was transferred to the 3rd Section. On the evening of October 26th, camp instructor Lv Yaqin, a Cangzhou woman who also took part in the persecution of practitioners at the Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp, took me to the 3rd Section, where she demanded that I write a repentance statement to renounce practising Falun Gong. I refused, and said, “I am being wronged.” On October 27th, Lv Yaqin ordered three former practitioners who had agreed to stop practising Falun Gong to try and “transform” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] me, making me read books that slandered Falun Gong. I refused, so they forced me to work in their cafeteria.
Later, I was taken to the group headed by guard Niu Li. She pretended to be nice to me at first. After three months, when she realised that I would not write a repentance statement or stop practising Falun Gong, she started making things difficult for me, for example taking away my right to call my family. She woke me up at 2:00 a.m. and ordered me to fill out some kind of form. I refused, so she beat me.
At the end of 2009, officer Wang Xi persecuted practitioner Yang Runxia in Luquan County. In the winter, she took away Ms. Yang's shoes, forcing her to wear slippers. Niu Li persecuted Zhangjiakou practitioner Chai Wensu with sleep deprivation, and also made former practitioners Wang Shucun and Liu Yingjie beat her. Niu Li also took part in the beatings.
