Police officers from Harbin and Shuangcheng Domestic Security Divisions ransacked Mr. Li Yueping's and Ms. Yin Yumei’s homes on March 7th, 2011. They arrested Mr. Li, in his 60s, and Mr. Hao Zhendong and his wife, who had fled to Mr. Yin Yumei’s home in hopes of avoiding further persecution. Ms. Yin Yumei escaped. Xiao Jitian was among the officers from the Shuangcheng Domestic Security Division participating in the arrests.
Thirteen policemen from Harbin and Shuangcheng Domestic Security Divisions took four vehicles to Fuzhi Village, Lequn Township, Shuangcheng City at around 2 p.m. on March 7th. They blocked the front and back doors of Mr. Li Yueping’s house and shouted, demanding the door to be opened. When Mr. Li's wife refused to open the door, they continued kicking the door. Mr. Li's wife finally opened the door because she was afraid that they would smash the door's glass window. Upon entering into the house, two officers grabbed Mr. Li, not allowing him to put on clothes, and others started to ransack the home. Mr. Li's wife asked them to show their IDs and legal documents authorizing them to enter her property, but they refused and claimed that they were there on "official duty." They confiscated computers and other private property, and then forced Mr. Li to finish dressing and arrested him. Mr. Li’s son and grandson witnessed the incident, and both were in tears. Mr. Li is currently detained on the third floor of the Shuangcheng Police Department.
Around 1 p.m. on the same day, about 20 police officers took six cars to Youhao Village, Lequn Township, and broke into Yin Yumei’s house. They confiscated her computer, printer and other personal property. Ms. Yin successfully escaped.
Mr. Hao Zhendong and his wife, from the suburbs of Harbin City, were staying at Ms. Yin’s home at the time. They were arrested and subsequently taken back to Harbin to be held there. A few days earlier, on March 2nd, 2011, officers from the Heilongjiang Province Police Department had confiscated satellite TV receivers, CDs, Falun Gong banners and other personal items from the couple's home. The officers had also threatened to arrest the couple, so Mr. Hao and his wife fled their home and came to stay with Ms. Yin in hopes of avoiding further persecution.
Before practising Falun Gong, Mr. Li Yueping had been an alcoholic with a bad temper and severe stomach problems. His wife had suffered a cerebral haemorrhage and was paralyzed in bed. She was in need of constant care. She was introduced to Falun Gong, and after studying the teachings, she no longer had to take medicines or injections, and was able to stand up on her own. Amazed by the miraculous changes in his wife, Mr. Li also started to practise Falun Gong, and all of his illnesses disappeared. He started to conduct himself according to the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, and his long-term addiction to alcohol also vanished.
