Jinan City Resident Ms. Huang Min Tortured to the Point of Mental Collapse

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Huang Min was arrested in October 2006 and sent to the First Women's Forced Labour Camp in Jinan City. She was tortured until she suffered a mental collapse. She was transferred to Lashan Mental Hospital of Jinan in October 2007, immediately after she finished serving her term at the forced labour camp. She was held in the mental hospital for over a year. In February 2011, Ms. Huang's husband and older brother—who have both been deceived by the Chinese Communist Party's propaganda defaming Falun Gong—forcibly sent her to the mental hospital again.

Ms. Huang started practising Falun Gong in 1999. She went to Beijing to speak out for Falun Gong on December 30th, 1999. As a result, she was arrested and taken back to Jinan.

She was held in the Jinan Liuchangshan Detention Centre for a month in January 2000. She was dismissed by her employer for no valid reason after she was released from the detention centre.

Ms. Huang was arrested at home and taken to the Shandong Province Mental Hospital in the eastern suburb of Jinan in mid-October 2003. She was mentally and physically tortured.

Ms. Huang and practitioner Li Jianmei went to Cao County in Shandong Province to work in October 2006. They were arrested by agents from the Cao County 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) for talking to people about Falun Gong inside a hotel. The county police took them to Heze Detention Centre and detained them for over two months. They were later transferred to the First Women's Forced Labour Camp of Jinan.

Ms. Huang was sentenced to one year of forced labour and detained in the second team. There, she was tortured until she suffered a mental collapse. In October 2007, instead of releasing her after her term ended, personnel from the local 610 Office took her to Lashan Mental Hospital in Jinan. For over a year during her detention in the mental hospital, she was forced to get injections and take medications. She once told others that she felt sick, dizzy, and extremely weak after taking the injections and medications.

Ms. Huang's husband took her home in the spring of 2009 after she was released on bail. Her mental state never improved and her whole body was swollen.

In February 2011, her husband and older brother, who both believed in the regime's propaganda defaming Falun Gong, sent her back to the mental hospital.
