Older Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Dai Zongqiu from Anqiu City, Shandong Province Dies as a Result of Persecution

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Dai Zongqiu from Anqiu City, Shandong Province was persecuted numerous times by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents. He died in July 2011 while he was living away from home to avoid the persecution.

After the CCP started the persecution of Falun Gong in July 1999, Mr. Dai was arrested, detained, and subjected to home ransacking and forced labour.

Mr. Dai was given a three-year forced labour term in July 2000 and held in Changle Forced Labour Camp. Because he remained steadfast in his belief, his term was extended by five months. After he was released, CCP agents harassed him at home whenever there was a holiday or sensitive day.

On April 18th, 2007. Mr. Dai was sentenced to 18 months of forced labour. The severe physical abuse and mistreatment made him seriously ill. He was released on medical parole.

On November 25th, 2008, regime agents went to Mr. Dai's home in an attempt to arrest him. They ransacked his home, turning everything upside down. They pried the drawers open and took 800 yuan¹, the only money the family had to live on. Mr. Dai managed to escape, but had since lived away from home to avoid being arrested again.

Over the past two years, officers from the Anqiu Domestic Security Division, Chengbei Police Station, and Dongguan Police Station harassed Mr. Dai's family dozens of times. They even went so far as to climb over the wall late one night to enter Mr. Dai's home, which frightened his wife so badly that she had a stroke. Now she is unable to take care of herself.

Seriously ill as a result of the persecution, Mr. Dai lived away from home for three years. He died in July 2011.
