The Clearwisdom website recently reported that Ms. Liu Ronghua, a teacher at Dalian Aquatic School, was facing additional prison sentencing right before her two-year forced labour term ended. Ms. Liu is not alone. There are at least two other practitioners in Dalian who have had similar experiences. They are Ms. Wang Chunrong, CEO of Xincheng Accounting Firm, and Ms. Ding Lu, a physician in the Shipbuilding Sanitarium in Dalian City.
1. The Real Reason Behind Ms. Wang Chunrong's Prison Sentence During Forced Labour
Ms. Wang Chunrong, 65, is CEO of the Xincheng Accounting Firm in Dalian City. After she started practising Falun Gong, she managed her firm according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Her firm didn't falsify accounts, and her employees are upright and have a good relationship. Her firm was highly regarded among clients and her business was on the rise.
Ms. Wang Chunrong was arrested on August 14th, 2007 and Dalian Xincheng Accounting Firm was forcibly closed down. More than 30 practitioners were arrested on the same day. In September 2009, Ms. Wang was sentenced to two years and three months of forced labour and sent to Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Shenyang City. In December 2009, the police transferred her to Yaojia Detention Centre in Dalian City. She was sentenced to three years in prison there, starting from the day she was taken to Yaojia Detention Centre. All the previous dates she had been detained didn't count.
Why did the authorities give Ms. Wang another prison term? The police reported the case in which more than 30 practitioners were arrested as “major cases” to their superiors and tried to claim credit and receive a reward. Without any evidence, they claimed that Ms. Wang used the profit from her firm to provide financial aid to other Falun Gong practitioners. Later on, the authorities audited the accounting firm for about three months and couldn't find any evidence. However, it had been reported to the superiors as a “major case” and everybody involved in the case had been awarded. The so-called “major case” turned out to be wrong without a doubt. The police didn't want to lose face and went ahead giving Ms. Wang a prison sentence.
2. The Real Reason Behind Ms. Ding Lu's Prison Sentence During Forced Labor
u
Ms. Ding Lu, 60, was a physician in Shipbuilding Sanitarium in Dalian City. She is kind, honest, hardworking and professional. She is very well received among her patients.
In March 2009, Ms. Ding gave a Falun Gong DVD to one of her neighbours and told her the truth about Falun Gong. The neighbour reported her to the police. Ms. Ding was arrested and sentenced to forced labour at Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Shenyang City for a year and a half. During February and March of 2010, before the term of her forced labour ended, she was transferred to Yaojia Detention Centre in Dalian City. While she was held at the detention centre, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) held a secret trial and Ms. Ding was sentenced to another five years in prison. The starting date is the day she was taken to Yaojia Detention Centre. All the previous dates she had been detained didn't count.
The police declared that her previous forced labour term was too “light.” However, what was the real reason for the prison sentence?
The Masanjia Forced Labour Camp is notorious for its brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Upon her arrival at Masanjia Forced Labour Camp, Ms. Ding Lu was deprived of sleep for more than ten days which made her delirious. She was then forced to “transform” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] while she was unable to think clearly.
At the end of 2009, all the detained Falun Gong practitioners in the labour camp were forced to attend a brainwashing session. A guard forced Ms. Ding Lu to speak at the meeting, in order to “transform” other practitioners. As she spoke, however, she pointed out the CCP's evil nature. When the guards realized what she was talking about, they rushed forward and dragged her off the stage. After that, the guards started to persecute her viciously again. When her term was about to end, they sentenced her to another five years in prison.
3. Ms. Liu Ronghua Facing Additional Prison Sentence Before Her Forced Labour Term Ended
Ms. Liu Ronghua, 47, was a teacher at Dalian Aquatic School (renamed Dalian Ocean School). She started practising Falun Gong in 1998, and abided by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Her health subsequently improved, and she diligently authored articles which were published in the “China Encyclopedia.”
Ms. Liu was arrested in September 2009 and was given a two-year sentence in the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. She was due to be released on September 22nd, 2011. On September 19th, Ms. Liu was transferred from the forced labor camp to the Yaojia Detention Center. She remained under arrest, awaiting sentencing. The police said, “We found new evidence and she is going to be retried.”
To this day, we haven't been able to find out what the new evidence is. We do know, whatever the evidence is, it is just an excuse they use to persecute practitioners.
4. Identifying the CCP's Evil Nature
The two ways the CCP persecutes practitioners in the name of the law is by forced labour and prison sentencing. The forced labour sentences do not go through legal procedures and is administered by the local Reeducation Through Labour Committee, without charge or trial. The prison sentence is given according to Article 300 of the criminal law which is “utilizing cult organizations to sabotage law enforcement.” However, Falun Gong is not a cult by law, therefore, it is wrong to apply Article 300 to Falun Gong practitioners. On the other hand, to this day, the CCP is not able to specify which law enforcement is sabotaged by practitioners. In fact, practising Falun Gong is legal by law and the persecution of practitioners is against the law and committing crimes. The CCP covering up the persecution with “law” is to deceive the people and is a matter of abusing the law.
