Judge Liang Yuncheng Transferred to Another Prison While in Critical Condition; His Present State of Health Unknown

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liang Yuncheng from Fengcheng City in Liaoning Province was persecuted in Benxi City Prison and his condition was recently grave. His family went to the prison to visit him, but the prison authorities made it difficult and would not allow them to meet. In the end, the prison authorities agreed to allow a visit in three weeks. However, when the family came for a visit after three weeks, they were informed that Mr. Liang had been transferred to the Dalian City Prison.

Mr. Liang worked as a judge at the Fengcheng Court. He has been repeatedly persecuted by the Chinese Communist regime for more than ten years because he refuses to give up practising Falun Gong. He has been arrested and detained many times and sent to forced labour camps twice. In 2006, he was cruelly tortured in Benxi Forced Labour Camp and Anshan Forced Labour Camp. Guards in the Benxi Forced Labour Camp tortured him twice using a method called the Stretching Bed. They shouted while torturing him, “I'll make it so you can neither die nor live.” Mr. Liang was arrested again on September 5th, 2010, and has been imprisoned ever since.

Clearwisdom reported on September 15th, 2011, “Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liang Yuncheng from Fengcheng City, Dandong, Liaoning Province, was put into solitary confinement in Prison Service Division because of his refusal to wear the prison uniform. He has been held there for over a month. Guards and inmates force-feed him every day. His life is in grave danger.”

After getting this news, Mr. Liang's family travelled several hundred kilometres to the Benxi City Prison on September 24th. The prison authorities did not allow them to meet under the pretence that it was not a visiting day that day. After negotiations involving multiple parties, the prison authorities finally promised to let them meet on October 18th.

On October 18th, when Mr. Liang's family went to the prison again, the prison authorities told them that Mr. Liang had been transferred to the Dalian City Prison. When the family asked why they had transferred Mr. Liang and why they had not notified the family, guard Wang said that it was a provincial prison bureau decision and that Mr. Liang had not been “transformed” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] and even helped those who had been “transformed” to declare their “transformations” null and void.

Mr. Liang's condition is uncertain. It is unclear whether he is actually in the Dalian City Prison, which ward he is in, and what his status is.
