Since October 2011, nearly one hundred practitioners have been detained at the Jieluqiao Brainwashing Centre in Shuitan District, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province. These practitioners were arrested from all the counties and districts within Yongzhou.
Between October 8th and October 19th, about a dozen officers from the Shuangpai County government, police department, and Political and Judiciary Committee broke into the homes of several practitioners, arresting three.
Around November 7th, agents and officers from the Lingling District 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and Domestic Security Division arrested and incarcerated practitioners Ms. Wang Yuerong, Ms. Cheng Qiuluan, and Ms. Huang Jinfeng at the Jieluqiao Brainwashing Centre. Around November 14th, they arrested and incarcerated Ms. Wang Huijun at the Jieluqiao Brainwashing Centre.
In November, director of the Ningyuan County 610 Office, Yue Yongzheng, and director of the Shunling Town Comprehensive Management Office, Ou Shuangcai, held practitioners Mr. He Daicheng, Ms. Chen Qinxiu, Mr. Huang Guosheng, and Ms. Peng Gerong at the Jieluqiao Brainwashing Centre.
At 4:00 p.m. on November 28th, about two dozen officers from the Xintian County 610 Office and Domestic Security Division and the Longquan Town government broke into Ms. Liu Tuxiu's home, arresting her. She was incarcerated at the Jieluqiao Brainwashing Centre.
In October, practitioners Ms. He Xianzhi, Ms. Pan Hong'e, and Mr. Zhao Xunzhuang were incarcerated at the Jieluqiao Brainwashing Centre. On October 24th, Ms. Tian Caiyin of Dongan County was incarcerated at the Jieluqiao Brainwashing Centre. At the end of November, Mr. Jiang Layuan, a former mathematics teacher, and Ms. Tian Caiyinng were sent to the Jieluqiao Brainwashing Centre by their employers for explaining the facts about Falun Gong in public.
The 610 Office is the Root of the Persecution
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has persecuted Falun Gong practitioners for more then ten years. Many people have learned the truth about Falun Gong, and consciously refuse to participate in the persecution. The CCP members of Yongzhou act against their conscience and persecute Falun Gong practitioners.
After Tang Xianglin took office in the Yongzhou City Political and Judiciary Committee in October 2011, the Yongzhou City 610 Office, Domestic Security Division, and Political and Judiciary Committee opened the Jieluqiao Brainwashing Centre in the Lengshui District. They assigned quotas to corresponding offices in each district and county under their authority, and had practitioners arrested and detained in the brainwashing centre.
The brainwashing centre continually broadcasts videos defaming Falun Gong. They hire highly-paid collaborators, who betrayed Falun Gong, and have them try to spread rumours and false theories to practitioners. They use mental torture and physical punishment to coerce practitioners to write the three statements and to give up their beliefs. In order to accelerate the “transformation” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] process, the centre uses nerve-damaging drugs on practitioners.
The 610 Office was created solely for the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by the CCP on June 10th, 1999. Its function is similar to the Nazi Gestapo. It has committed countless crimes over the past twelve years. The Yongzhou 610 Office asked the City Finance Bureau for a bonus of 10,000 yuan1 for each “transformed” practitioner. Some“transformed” practitioners were then fined 10,000 yuan. The brainwashing centre has televisions everywhere. Agents coerce practitioners to watch videos defaming Falun Gong, and urging them to betray fellow practitioners. They have seven collaborators from Hainan Province. The collaborators are experienced brainwashers who have been working in prisons and forced labour camps for many years.
The brainwashing centre is under the direct command of the Hunan Province 610 Office. The head of the Hunan 610 Office recently came to the brainwashing centre to give direct supervision. More than 40 practitioners were incarcerated during the first phase of the brainwashing centre's operation. The second phase is currently underway, and the number of detained practitioners is unknown. Zhou Wenxuan and Xu Yuxiang are “transformed” practitioners who now act as collaborators for the brainwashing centre.
The Yongzhou Lengshuitan District 610 Office has been arresting and detaining practitioners in the brainwashing centre since October 2011.
The brainwashing centre is located in Jieluqiao Town. It is still holding at least ten practitioners. Most of the practitioners were arrested at their homes. Some suddenly disappeared and were later found in the brainwashing centre. The brainwashing centre has denied all requests for family visits.
On November 15th, Yongzhou practitioners Mr. Yue Liangzhen and Ms. Zhang Huacui went grocery shopping but never returned. Their whereabouts are unknown. Their families suspect that they are detained at the Jieluqiao Brainwashing Centre.
An Outstanding Teacher and His Wife Arrested and Held at Brainwashing Centre
At 7:00 a.m. on November 25th, the Lanshan County Grain Bureau deputy director Jiang Yunqi called Mr. Lei Zhiyong and claimed to be interested in purchasing rice. When Mr. Lei left his rice shop, four plainclothes officers arrested him under the order of Jiang Yunqi. The officers did not show any identification or legal documents.
Mr. Lei, 43, is a native of Leijialing Village, Huoshi Township, Lanshan County. He first worked as a teacher in Xinyu Middle School after he graduated from college, and he was later transferred to the Lanshan First Middle School for his outstanding performance. Mr. Lei was praised by both teachers and students alike for his hard work and willingness to help others.
Although he was admired by his colleagues and students, Mr. Lei has been repeatedly arrested, detained, and persecuted for his belief in Falun Dafa. Between 1999 and 2001, he was detained in detention centres several times. In 2002, he was arrested by the 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division and sentenced to six years in prison. Mr. Lei was fired from the school. He was imprisoned at Jinshi Prison in Changde, where he was tortured by guards. Mr. Lei bears scars as a result of the torture he endured.
Around 7:00 a.m. on December 4, a group of plainclothes officers arrested Ms. Lei's wife, Ms. Li Chunyi, at their store while she was unloading goods.
Ms. Li, 45, was imprisoned in a forced labour camp for more than a year after appealing for the right to practise Falun Gong in Beijing in 2000. During the seven years that her husband, Mr. Lei, was imprisoned, she took care of his 70-year-old mother and their own young daughter. The couple were both arrested recently, leaving their shop with no one to manage it, and leaving their daughter and Mr. Lei's mother without care.
The arrest was conducted by Jiang Yunqi, the deputy director of the Lanshan County Grain Bureau where Ms. Li works. On December 3rd, Jiang called Ms. Li and asked her to “visit” Mr. Lei in the brainwashing centre. Jiang had made similar calls several days before, but Ms. Li did not go because she needed to attend to the shop. The officers then directly arrested her at the shop.
Cruel Party Members Meet with Retribution
Ancient wisdom reminds us: “Persisting in evil brings about self-destruction.” People who are involved in the persecution should learn from the live examples around them, and make the right choice for themselves.
In 2001, Peng Kaifa, head of the Qiyang County Party Committee, issued a work plan at the county political and judiciary work conference. While talking about the third item, “Fighting Falun Gong to the end,” before he finished his words, he fainted and collapsed to the ground. Even though he was admitted to the Changsha Hospital, he has never recovered and remains in vegetative state.
The first director of the Qiyang 610 Office, Peng Wenhua, tripped over his own shoe laces and fell to the first floor from the second floor. He suffered a fractured clavicle. The second director, Zhou Bingsheng, experienced a motorcycle accident and suffered a fractured scapula. The third director, Li Bengguo, had a fight with his wife, who later violently squeezed and ruptured her husbands testicles. The Qiyang County Economy Committee director, Zhang Xuyou, slandered Falun Dafa and died in a car accident.
Peng Zhongjiang, deputy head of the Lanshan County Political and Judiciary Committee, went to Lanshan County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital seeking treatment for foot pain. The doctor gave him a bone marrow examination. He died several hours later at the age of 48. People who knew him said, “This guy was a very bad man, and he deserved to die.”
Huang Xiaolan, in her forties, is the former chief of the Lanshan County Domestic Security Division. She closely followed the CCP and actively persecuted practitioners since July 20th, 1999. On October 27th, 2005, she was seriously injured in a car accident. She suffered seven broken ribs, cervical spine fractures, a fractured pelvic bone, and lower body split bleeding. Even though she survived, she became permanently disabled. The day after the accident, Lanshan County released her from the position of chief. Her career was finished. Her family life is in crisis.
