Mr. Wang Fengqi from Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province Passes Away After Police Harassment and Home Ransacking

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Fengqi lived on the Fengmao Tree Farm in Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province. He is the father of Mr. Wang Xinchun, who lost his legs in 2001 due to the persecution. Jinshantun District Police Department deputy head Ding Dezhi instigated Gao Jian and Wang Shoumin from the Fenggou Police Station to ransack Mr. Wang Fengqi's home. Terribly frightened, Mr. Wang suddenly lost his ability to speak or move, and passed away less than a month later.

Mr. Wang Fengqi, his wife Ms. Wang Guixiang and their son Mr. Wang Xinchun started practising Falun Gong in 1998. Ms. Wang Guixiang and her son Mr. Wang Xinchun had been detained and subjected to forced labour many times. Mr. Wang Fengqi had also been threatened, arrested, interrogated and detained repeatedly. He was extorted a total of more than 6,000 yuan¹ by Fengmao Tree Farm and 610 Office agents (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). Mr. Wang Xinchun wrote appeal letters to related departments seeking justice. In revenge, the Jinshantun District police, 610 Office agents and government staff members broke into Mr. Wang's home numerous times to harass him. They arrested his parents, tortured them and subjected his mother to three years of forced labour. (Related article: http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2005/4/16/59700.html)

On October 26th, 2011, Mr. Wang was shopping in Yichun City when Wang Haibo and Li Helin from the Hongsheng Police Station arrested him and took him to the criminal police division's interrogation room at the Yichun District Police Department. They physically abused him. Mr. Wang was released just after 9:00 p.m. that night. Subsequently, officers Min Changchun, Zhang Chunchen and Wang Shoumin went to the Hongsheng Police Station to take Mr. Wang home. However they ordered Mr. Wang to get out of the car and left him at the side of the road at Fengmao Tree Farm.

At the same time, Zhang Hu from the Yichun 610 Office contacted the Jinshantun District Police Department. The deputy head of the police department, Ding Dezhi, then ordered officers from the Fenggou Police Station to ransack Mr. Wang’s home. His father Mr. Wang Fengqi was so traumatized that he lost the ability to speak from that point onward. He was also unable to walk. He passed away on December 22nd, 2011.
