Practitioners Arrested in Several Cities of Hebei Province on February 25th

On February 25th, practitioners were arrested by local police in Tangshan City, Shijiazhuang City, Botou City and Xuanhua County in Hebei Province. This was part of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners before the National People's Congress Conference and People's Political Consultative Conference.

Tangshan City

On February 25th, 15 practitioners were either arrested or their homes ransacked in Tangshan City, Tanghai County, Fengrun District, Kaiping District.

At around 6:00 a.m., police broke into the homes of Ms. Xu Jie and Mr. Yang Guoguang. They were arrested and their homes were ransacked.

Mr. Li Shuncheng from the Fengrun District was arrested.

Mr. Li Yushu's home in the Fengrun District was ransacked, and his wife Ms. Wang Rui was arrested. His whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. He Suying was arrested and her home in the Fengrun District was ransacked.

Ms. Yang Guoli from the Nanjiazhuang area of the Fengrun District was arrested when shopping and is being detained at the Fengrun District Detention Centre.

At around 6:00 a.m., police officer Li Fuguo from the Domestic Security Division arrested Mr. Zheng Xiangxing from Tanghai County. He was first taken to the Tanghai Police Department, and then sent to the Tanghai County Hospital for a physical examination. He is being detained in the Tanghai County Detention Centre. His home was ransacked and his cellphone, computer, printer and car were confiscated. His car was taken to the Tanghai County Police Department.

At around 6:00 a.m., over ten police officers from the Kaiping District Police Department and the Liyuan Police Station broke into Mr. Gao Zhaochen's home in the Majiagou area of the Kaiping District. They confiscated Dafa materials and took him to the Kaiping District Police Department.

At around 8:30 a.m., police from the Tangshan City Police Department and the Lunan Police Department broken into Mr. Pei Xi's home. Mr. Pei was not there and only his wife was home. The police then went to his workplace and arrested him. Around 9:00 a.m., they broke into his home again and ransacked it. They confiscated a computer, printer and some other personal belongings. They came back to ransack his home again at 2:00 p.m.

That morning practitioner Mr. Shang (given name unknown) and his wife were arrested. Mr. Sui Xin was arrested on the same day.

Practitioners Mr. Ma Hengchao and Mr. Li Wendong's whereabouts are unknown.

Shijiazhuang City

On the morning of February 25th, there were three incidents of police ransacking practitioners' homes and arresting them. On February 18th, some Falun Gong practitioners were harassed by phone calls, threatening them to “pay attention” before and during the National People's Congress Conference and People's Political Consultative Conference.

On the morning of February 25th, a practitioner's home on floor 12 of #8 Building of Dama Zhuangyuan, Shijiazhuang was ransacked.

Also that morning, Mr. Sun Tao was arrested. His home was ransacked and some of his belongings were confiscated.

Shortly after 8:00 a.m., Ms. Qiu Liying left her mother's home, and since then her whereabouts have been unknown. Her home was ransacked.

At around 7:00 a.m., Mr. Liu Rongfa, an employee of the Airplane Manufacturing Plant, and his wife Ms. Yin Yanxin were cooking at home. The electricity went off all a sudden. When Ms. Yin went outside to check the switch, several plainclothes police broke into their home and ransacked it. They confiscated a computer, cellphone, several Falun Gong books, cash with messages exposing the persecution written on them, an MP3 player, an e-book and over 20 Falun Gong DVDs.

The perpetrators were chief Zhu (given name unknown) from the Shijiazhuang Xinhua Police Department, and director Dong from the Shigang Grand Street Police Department. When Mr. Liu and Ms. Yin explained the truth to them and advised them not to commit more crimes against practitioners, they did not listen and arrested them.

Mr. Liu and Ms. Yin began to practise Falun Gong in 1994. Their illnesses disappeared shortly after. Their neighbours all knew they were good people. During the past several years, they have been arrested and their home has been ransacked several times.

Cangzhou City

Between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. on February 25th, Tang Guoli, the director of the Cangzhou Yunhe Police Department Domestic Security Division, ordered the police to surround the homes of Mr. Zhang Libo, Mr. Wang Zhenqing and Mr. Jia Zhaoqing. They arrested Mr. Wang Zhenqing and a visitor Mr. Liu Weimin, and ransacked Mr. Wang home. They confiscated his personal belongings.

Mr. Jia Zhaoqing's wife, and Mr. Han Shuzheng were arrested at 9:30 a.m. at the entrance of her home. Mr. Jia was arrested around 12:30 p.m. Their home was ransacked.

Potou City

At around 5:30 a.m. on February 25th, over 20 police officers broke into the homes of Mr. Yin Jian, Ms. Wei Jingmin, practitioner Zhang Hua, Ms. Zhang Zhenglan, Mr. Zhang Jinshan and Ms. Zhang Xiaoxiang at about the same time to harass them. Mr. Zhang Jinshan's son, Mr. Zhang Shuicai, was arrested. Practitioner Zhang Hua's home was ransacked and over 1,000 DVDs were confiscated.

Xuanhua County

Around 4:00 a.m. on February 25th, police from the Zhangjiakou Police Department and Jiajiaying Police Station in Xuanhua County broke into Mr. Gao Yanchen's home in Yuantanzi Village, Xuanhua County, and arrested Mr. Gao and his wife Ms. Zhang Xiaoning. Ms. Zhang is being detained in the Jiajiaying Police Station, but Mr. Gao's whereabouts are unknown. About the same time, Mr. Lin (given name unknown) in Nihezi Village, Xuanhua County was arrested at home along with his son. They are being detained at the local police station.

The local officials in Xinji went to Falun Gong practitioners' homes to harass and monitor them around the clock.
