Japan: Practitioners Participate in Community Activity to Spread the Truth About Falun Gong

Spring and summer are the most active seasons for community activities in Japan. On May 27th, 2012, Falun Dafa practitioners in Japan were invited to take part in a community activity in Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture. Utsunomiya International Exchange Association hosted the event with the theme of “My Utsunomiya 2012.”

Practitioners have participated in community activities in Utsunomiya many times to introduce Falun Dafa. This time, the performance venue was in the popular city centre park - Castle Ruins Park, where many people were coming and going. Practitioners presented the exercises and young practitioners from the Japan Minghui School performed a Fan Dance, Ribbon Dance and Lion Dance.

At 9:00 am, practitioners arrived in the performance venue at the front gate of the park and began doing the group practice. People passing by stopped to watch. Among them was a Chinese lady carrying her baby. She learned the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution from a practitioner and renounced the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organisations.

At noon, young practitioners from the Minghui School began performing a Fan Dance dressed as celestial maidens, and then practitioners demonstrated the exercises and performed a Ribbon Dance and Lion Dance. Many people came to watch. The performances won a round of applause from the audience. Practitioners distributed many Falun Gong introductory materials and presented people with beautifully handmade paper lotus flowers.

Four Chinese overseas students who study at a local university listened to a practitioner explain the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution, and then announced their withdrawals from the CCP and its affiliated organisations. They happily accepted paper lotus flowers. After watching practitioners' performances, they asked the practitioners how to practise Falun Gong. They said that they had circumvented the blockade to view information outside China since 2005. They have been aware of the truth and are very supportive of Falun Gong.

Through introducing Falun Dafa at several community activities, more and more local people have come to know about Falun Dafa. The practitioners hope to participate in more community activities so that they can continue to spread the goodness of Falun Dafa to every household in Japan.
