Plan to Escalate the Persecution against Falun Dafa and Practitioners in Preparation for October’s Party Congress

The ”the 610 Office” in Hunan Province is conducting a mandatory survey on all local Falun Gong practitioners, including those determined practitioners who could not be "transformed," those who missed registering in previous surveys, those who came back to cultivation again, and those who were formerly "transformed," but could still possibly go back to Falun Gong practice. Officials of all ”the 610 Office” from all counties in Xiangtan City and all personnel from the Political and Judiciary Committees are taking the action separately to the government at the lowest levels. (Note: The ”the 610 Office” is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems).

It is said this survey is being conducted for preparations for the 16th "People's Party Congress" taking place in October 2002. There is a plot for a new round of persecution against Falun Gong as well. Like the large-scale raids conducted during the Spring Festival of 2001, the authorities attempt to take many practitioners to the brainwashing centre.
