Urgent Rescue: My Memorable Encounters with Zheng Xujun

Mr Zheng Xujun was a visiting scholar in the University of Liverpool (UK) before returning to China in 1999. Because they practise Falun Gong, Xujun and his wife Su Nan are now being detained in forced labour camps suffering brainwashing, torture and other unimaginable miseries. European citizens have launched an urgent rescue campaign to get these innocent people freed from imprisonment immediately. Below is the story of a practitioner from the UK who was friends with Xujun.

I only met Xujun twice, but he left me very deep impression on me. I could never forget him.

Our first meeting was in May 1999. We had a small meeting in the house of a London Dafa practitioner. I met Xujun as I left the subway. He is a thin young man and he was wearing very simple clothing. He was studying in Liverpool University. In our short talk, he mentioned his free Dafa exercise class in Liverpool; he did a lot to spread Dafa there.

The second time I met Xujun was in Beijing on the 22nd of July 1999. I went to a Dafa exercise site in the morning, and heard the Jiang Zemin had imposed a ban Dafa. I went to the Appeal Office near Zhongnaihai, and Xujun was there with his wife. She is a beautiful slim lady who works in the army. She told me she has been criticized many times in her workplace because she practises Falun Dafa but she would not give up cultivation even if she had to lose her job. Later, policemen forced us to get on a bus and searched us as we boarded. They found Dafa book in Xujun’s wife’s bag. She tried to protect the book and a policeman attacked her. Later we arrived at Sijingshan Gymnasium and were imprisoned there for 12 hours.

I will always remember what I saw and what I heard there. There were several thousand of practitioner insides. They recited Teacher Li’s poems. There were a 7-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl. When they recited the poems, their voices were so loud that everyone could hear them throughout the whole gymnasium. They really seemed like little angels from Heaven. The energy field was so strong and righteous in there that I was moved to tears.

Xujun found me in crowd. When he knew that I did not have anything to eat, he insisted on giving me 100 Yuan. He said, “please take it, perhaps you will need it later.” His sincere attitude and compassionate nature made it difficult for me to refuse. He was so kind and always thought of others before himself. At 8:00pm, we were told to leave the Gymnasium and I have never seen them again. It is said they sacrificed a lot and are still suffering in China.

I learned a lot from my short encounters with Xujun and his wife Su. I hope that I can follow their example of always being kind and thinking of others first. I also hope that they can be freed from the horrific persecution that is being inflicted on them in China at the moment. Please do what you can to support the campaign to rescue them.
