  • Germany’s New Chancellor: Germany will continue to pay attention to China’s human rights violations including Falun Gong issue

    Mr. Lackamp, Head of human rights Affairs of the Christian Democratic Union, sent a letter to the practitioner on behalf of Ms. Merkel, to the effect that she was regretful to learn that Falun Gong practitioners are still persecuted in China. The letter also indicated that the Christian Democratic Union has raised the issues concerning the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners many times in Germany’s Parliamentary sessions and various levels of the Sino-German dialogue. In the letter, she also assured the practitioner that the Union will continue to pay attention to China’s human right problems including Falun Gong issues in the future.
  • German Prime Minister Wanted to Help Hu Realise the Importance of Freedoms

    The famous German TV Station First Channel reported on the German President Horst Koehler’s speech during a press conference after his meeting with Chinese President Hu. Mr. Koehler said that he pointed out to Mr. Hu that respecting people’s wishes, enjoying freedom and dignity, are the common value of the world and the aim of the United Nation’s Constitution. Only through promoting peace, freedom and democracy, can people’s lives improve and only then, can economic growth be maintained.
  • Vice President of the Czech Senate: The Values of "Truthfulness Compassion and Forbearance" Should be Retained in Every Country

    On October 31st, 2005, representatives of the Czech Falun Dafa Association visited Mr Edward Outrata, Vice President of the Czech Senate, regarding the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong. Mr Outrata had previously made the point that the world’s moral pressure on the Chinese government is very important. He also believes this kind of pressure is advantageous to the improvement of China’s human rights situation.
  • Sweden: Lerum’s Socialdemokratiska Arbetarekommun Condemns the Torture which Led to the Death of Falun Gong Practitioner Gao Rongrong, and Hopes for Democracy in China

    "... we receive reports about the persecution, incarcerations and torture, which has led to deaths of Falun Gong practitioners. An example of this is Gao Rongrong from Shenyang, who died on the 12th of June, 2005 by torture and exhaustion. This is against the UN’s convention on human rights. We condemn the torture which led to the death of Gao Rongrong and demand that those involved are held responsible for this and similar crimes."
  • UK MPs Sign Early Day Motion Calling for the Release of All Incarcerated Falun Gong Practitioners

    On November 8th 2005, UK MP David Howarth put forward an Early Day Motion (EDM 966). The Motion calls for the release from prison of all Falun Gong practitioners and has already received 37 signatures from UK MPs. The Motion also calls for Falun Gong practitioners to be free to practise and supports an end to the discrimination in China that stops Falun Gong practitioners getting employment, something which occurred after former Chinese Communist Party (CCP) head Jiang Zemin ordered CCP officials to "destroy Falun Gong practitioners physically, bankrupt them financially and ruin their reputations".
  • Sweden: Foreign Ministry Expresses Support for Falun Gong Practitioners in China

    "Thank you for your letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, dated May 2nd...As you might know, human rights issues in China are frequently brought up in discussions with our Chinese counterparts, during our many contacts, both from Sweden and from the EU. For example, every sixth months we have within the EU a special human rights dialogue with China, where we go through an extensive agenda and bring up all the areas where we feel a strong concern regarding how human rights issues are handled in China."
  • German Member of Parliament: “I Assure You that We Will Continue to Fight for the Release of Renzheng Jiang.”

    Jiang Renzheng, his wife and two small children were deported to Beijing from Würzburg (Germany) in March 2005. Following his deportation, Jiang Renzheng was sentenced to three years of forced labour and is now being detained in a labour camp in the city of Benxi because of his Falun Gong practice and the attendant accusation of “endangering public security.” His wife was forced into hiding because of her imminent arrest.
  • European Friends of Falun Gong Writes to UK Prime Minister Before Visit of CCP Leader

    "It is important that Mr Hu realizes that the UK respects justice, democracy and supports human rights and that this is the underpinning to sustain long-term stability and prosperity in our trade and economic partnership with China. We believe the UK’s responsibility is clear and our voice is critical in bringing an end to the systemic persecution in China. The UK must act according to international human rights agreements, otherwise the UK is sending a message that it condones genocide and human rights violations."
  • UK MP Urges Prime Minister to Raise Human Right Issues with Chinese Communist Party Head

    Dr Liam Fox MP has written a letter to European Friends of Falun Gong saying: “I fully appreciate your concerns about China’s record on human rights. I have today asked the Prime Minister to raise these issues during the State Visit of President Hu.” Dr Fox points out that China “remains a politically repressive state, centrally driven by the Party and for the Party. Its human rights record is appalling……Democracy has to be more than just the holding of intermittent ballots – it has to be supported with free markets, a meaningful rule of law and respect for human rights.”
  • During a Session of the European Parliament, A Councillor Appeals to the Chinese Communist Party to Release Yang Feng, a Falun Gong Practitioner

    On September 8th, there was a forum on the Chinese Communist Party's record against human rights and freedom of speech during a session of the European Parliament. Mr John Bowis, an MEP from London made a brief speech appealing to the CCP to stop its violation of Human Rights. In his speech, he also mentioned Yang Feng, a former UK Falun Gong practitioner who is locked up by the CCP.
  • Switzerland: The Government and Members of the National Assembly Pay Attention To the CCP's Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in China

    In the convention of the Swiss National Assembly held this June, Mr Luc Recordon, a member of the National Assembly, interrogated the administration about the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong and the sentencing and arrest of Falun Gong practitioner Chu Minghua, whose daughter Wang Shaoyang is studying in Switzerland.   • European Friends of Falun Gong Writes to the UK Prime Minister

    "In view of your forthcoming visit to China to hold talks with Chinese President Hu Jintao next week, we wish to draw to your attention the plight of the millions of Falun Gong practitioners who have suffered at the hands of the Chinese authorities since the practice of Falun Gong was outlawed by former President Jiang Zemin in July 1999. Since then nearly 3,000 practitioners have died in custody as the result of torture by a leadership which is inextricably linked to the Chinese Communist Party."
  • A Danish Citizen Writes a Letter to Benxi Labour Camp Calling for the Release of Jiang Renzheng

    "Based on China’s high-ranking officials who have defected, the facts of the persecution detailed by Falun Gong practitioners in the past few years are undeniable. The Chinese defectors further exposed the persecution inflicted on Falun Gong practitioners inside and outside of China. The day when the Communist regime will dissolve is coming. The evil doers who committed crimes against good people will be punished. Good is met with good and evil with evil. Here I am telling you: Falun Gong is good."
  • Finland: Parliament’s Human Rights Commission Appeals to the People to Pay Attention to Human Rights in China

    A parade supporting 3.6 million people who withdrew their membership from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was held in Helsinki. Some local Falun Gong practitioners chose to take part in and support these activities due to the controlling role that the Chinese Communist Party has taken in the six-year genocide against Falun Gong practitioners.

    "Since the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese government began in July 1999 the world has gradually become more and more aware of the terrible acts of torture and murder they have carried out. In recent months however, since the publication of the ‘Nine Commentaries on the Chinese Communist Party’ by The Epoch Times in November last year, we have come to learn that the persecution is inextricably conducted by the Chinese Communist Party itself, the mechanism by which the major players in Chinese politics have gained their power and authority."
