Canada: Toronto Practitioners Protest the Chinese Communist Party's Persecution on World Human Rights Day
2006-12-17On December 10th, 2006, World Human Rights Day, Amnesty International and nine other organisations held a peaceful protest entitled "We Remember" in front of the Chinese Consulate in Toronto. The protest aimed to commemorate the 80 million Chinese killed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and speak out for human rights for 1.3 billion Chinese. Falun Gong practitioners joined the protest. -

Australia: Vice Secretary of Guangdong Communist Party Committee Chen Shaoji Sued in Australia for his Crimes in the Persecution of Falun Gong
2006-12-14Besides these two plaintiffs, many Australian residents and their family members in Guangdong Province were persecuted. The husband of Australian citizen Zhizhen Dai was tortured to death in 2001. Australian citizen Cuiying Zhang was illegally imprisoned for eight months in 2000. Yiwen Tang, sister of Australian citizen Lisa Tang, was tortured for two years in labour camps and her legs were broken. -
CIPFG Asia Delegation Formed on International Human Rights Day
2006-12-14On December 10th, 2006, International Human Rights Day, the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG) Asia Delegation was formed. It is another regional delegation of CIPFG after the establishment of the Australian Delegation. There are ninety members in CIPFG Asia, including local council leaders, administrative leaders, non-governmental leaders, figures from human rights circles, law, medicine, professionals and media. -

Singapore: Pre-trial Hearing Reveals a Plot to File New Fabricated Charges against Practitioners
2006-12-12After the Singapore Subordinate Court rushed to its verdict on the "July 20th" (See below) case on November 30th, a pre-trial meeting was held on December 8th. The meeting was to schedule a trial agenda for other practitioners who have been prosecuted by Singapore police on other fabricated charges. However, the Judge said that the plaintiffs have requested an extension of a week to consider adding new charges against practitioners. The Judge has accepted the request and thus a pretrial hearing will be held on December 15th. -
Taiwan: Chiayi City Councilor Joins CIPFG to Investigate Organ Harvesting
2006-12-11On December 3rd, 2006, Chiayi City Councilor Tsai Wensyu expressed his willingness to join the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG). He said: "Harvesting organs from living people is a crude and inhumane crime." To safeguard human rights, he said that he had no choice but to join the investigation. -
