Lawless Police in Baoding City, Hebei Province Arrest Falun Gong Practitioner Liu Zhihui and Send Him to a Forced Labour Camp

On August 28th, 2007, officers from the Baoding City National Security Team in Hebei Province followed Falun Gong practitioner Liu Zhihui in six vehicles. To find out where they were from, Liu Zhihui's brother-in-law invited them to a restaurant. When Liu Zhihui was paying the bill, the head of these policemen saw that Mr. Liu took out almost ten thousand yuan from his pocket. He attempted to extort the money and said, "Liu Zhihui is rich and we are poor. Liu will not be stingy." Liu Zhihui did not speak to him and put the rest of the money into his pocket. The plainclothes criminals got annoyed and began to search Liu Zhihui and his car, without showing any ID. They confiscated his car, the remaining cash of 8,960 yuan that Liu Zhihui was going to use to pay his client for business transactions. They then sent him to a forced labour camp, in complete violation of the Chinese Constitution. -
Persecution Facts at Jiepai Town, Mengyin County, Shandong Province
2007-10-28Falun Dafa practitioners at Jiepai Town have been subjected to brainwashing; have had money and personal belongings extorted from them; and have been physically abused, beaten, and maligned numerous times. 610 Officers extorted 700 yuan from Ms. Liu Xiaolian and her husband. Because they didn't have the money at the time and were two days late in producing it, they were forced to pay another 3,000 yuan. At another time police used a stick to brutally beat Ms. Liu Xiaolian's head, hips and legs. She was black and blue all over. She almost fainted from the excruciating pain. -
Practitioner Tortured - Police Chief Responsible for the Arrest Meets Untimely Death
2007-10-28"Paoliao", in Qianxi dialect, is to put handcuffs and shackles on a person, and then use a chain of less then 50 cm. to tie both together. When a person is being "paoliaoed", he would have to keep his body bent at more than 90 degrees if he were to stand. To move from one place to another he has to bend over and slowly inch his way along. Practitioner Chuan Zhiwu was savagely tortured this way for a whole month. Finally he was let up when the district attorney's office did not find sufficient evidence and refused to issue the arrest warrant. During this period, they hit him that his face was bruised and swollen. His neck also swelled badly, so that he was unable to eat. Fu said grimly: " We'll force-feed you if you dare go on a hunger strike." Under such brutal and degrading torture, Chuan very soon turned into a living skeleton. -
Ms. Deng Shufen, a Seventy-Year-Old Practitioner from Shuangliu County, Sichuan Province, Recently Arrested
2007-10-28On October 1st, 2007, Ms. Deng Shufen, a Falun Gong practitioner from Sichuan Province went to the Jitian Town Government to speak out for justice for Falun Gong. She told them that because the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) had committed heinous crimes it would be destroyed and anyone associated with it would be implicated, so that only if they quit the CCP would they have a good future. The town government authorities, instead of listening to what she said, ordered the police of the Jitian Police Substation to arrest Ms. Deng Shufen. -
From Being a Millionaire to Becoming Homeless and Destitute, But Remaining Steadfast in Dafa
2007-10-28On September 23rd, 2007, the police arrested a Falun Gong practitioner couple, Mr. Long Guande and Ms. Zhan Xuemei. The police searched and ransacked the couple's home. Presently, the practitioners' whereabouts are unknown. Mr. Long Guande is well-known in Zhuhai City and owns a residential renovation business. In the past, he had accumulated quite a bit of wealth as a result of his hard work. Due to poor health he started practising Falun Gong. From then on, all his illnesses disappeared, and he also had changed into a person with high moral standards. Since the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999 Mr. Long was repeatedly arrested and taken to the local brainwashing centre. For seven years, he could not go home and was homeless and destitute. During this time, he successfully avoided arrest many times. -
Older Ms. Yang Chongyu from Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, Died as a Result of Persecution in a Mental Hospital and Forced Labour Camp
2007-10-27Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Chongyu was 53 years old. She went by train to Beijing in 2001 to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. On the way she exposed the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) use of propaganda and told people how it had framed Falun Gong, and this led to her arrest. Ms. Yang refused to give up her belief in Falun Gong and was sent to Wanchun Mental Hospital. She was forcibly injected with large doses of drugs and was forced to take many unknown drugs in the hospital, which made her suffer mentally and physically. After she returned home, she was often harassed and threatened by the authorities. Ms. Yang Chongyu died on September 12th, 2007. Although she was 1.60 metres (5'3") tall, she weighed a mere 30 kg (60 lbs.). -
Recent Death of Ms. Zhang Mengzhen, from Shandong Province, Persecuted by Over 40 Different Organisations and 200 People

In September 1999, Ms. Zhang Mengzhen was arrested for appealing for Falun Gong and subjected to torture by police officers, one of whom said: "I'll see if your mouth is tougher, or if my electric baton is tougher," and shoved the electric baton into her mouth to viciously shock her. This made her tongue entirely stiff, and her mouth burned and blistered from the electric shocks. On September 1st, 2007, Ms. Zhang did in a car accident. -
50-Year-Old Practitioner Mr. Zhao Fei Grossly Abused at Masanjia Forced Labour Camp
2007-10-27Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhao Fei, around 50 years old, was arrested in late July 2007, and a month after his arrest, he was sent to the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp, where he was brutally tortured. The guards handcuffed him to a metal chair, beat him ruthlessly and shocked him with electric batons. Practitioners at Masanjia are forced to do slave labour. They are made to get up at 4:30 a.m., and are not allowed to go to bed until midnight. -
Appeal for the Release of My Husband Yang Jianpo
2007-10-27My husband, Yang Jianpo, has been detained several times and severely tortured because he refuses to give up Falun Gong. In detention police tied my husband to an "iron chair", and used a hand-cranked-telephone which generates electrical current to shock him. They connected wires to all of his fingers, and when they shocked him, the pain was beyond description. He felt his heart was broken into pieces and his body ready to explode. They took turns torturing him. He was deprived of sleep and tortured day and night for three consecutive days. From 1999 until today, the authorities have confiscated from my family a total of 80,000 yuan (5,000 British pounds), consisting of cash, belongings and vehicles. -
Sentenced to Forced Labour Three Times for a Total of Six Years, Ms. Peng Shiqiong Is Being Held in Chongqing Forced Labour Camp Beyond Her Original Sentence
2007-10-26In the winter of 2002, a journalist from Australia went to Nanmusi Women's Forced Labour Camp and asked for information about the water dungeon. Prison guard Li Qi denied the existence of a water dungeon. Li Qi took the journalist from the first floor to the third. Seeing that 13 practitioners were being forced to stand, the journalist asked, "Why are they standing there?" Li Qi replied, "Because they like it." One practitioner pointed at Li Qi and said, "No, we do not like standing here. She makes us." After the journalist left, Li Qi instigated some drug addict inmates to brutally beat Peng Shiqiong, Gao Huifang (who has since been tortured to death), Luo Meng, and Wang Huiying for several hours. Even the regular prisoners were horrified when they saw what was going on, and turned away. -
Practitioner Mr. Xu Xiaolong Endures Long-Term Torture in Tianjin First Prison
2007-10-26Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xu Xiaolong is 52 years old. Because he steadfastly practised Falun Gong, the management of this company, along with local policemen, arrested him on October 28th, 1999. On March 22nd, 2000, the First Level Intermediate Court in Tianjin sentenced Mr. Xu to five years in prison. Guard Yang Bo introduced a special torture method. He made a stool of only about 2x2x3 inches in size (width-height-length). Normally people's hip bones are about 3 inches wide. Therefore, a person could only sit on this stool with one side of the hip bone. In addition, the stool was very low, so when a person sat on it, the centre of gravity was out of the body. It was very hard to sit in balance. The guards knew that nobody would be able to sit steadily, yet they forced Falun Gong practitioners to sit like this for 16 hours a day. Many people couldn't endure this torture and were thus forced to be "reformed." -
Mr. Wang Xiaomin from Jinzhou City Arrested Eight Times and Sent to Forced Labour Camps Twice
2007-10-26Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Xiaomin from Jinzhou City has been arrested and detained eight times and sent to forced labour twice in the past eight years, simply for upholding his belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." Police arrested Wang Xiaomin for the eighth time on August 20th, 2007. Wang Xiaomin is now being held at the City No. 1 Detention Centre. -
Many Falun Dafa Practitioners Secretly Given Long Sentences in Qingdao City
2007-10-26Recently, many practitioners were given long sentences on trumped-up charges by a court in Qingdao City, Shandong Province. Ms. Wang Shulan was sentenced to a prison term of 17 years. Wang Kangning was sentenced to nine years. During the last few years, government agencies in Qingdao City have secretly given practitioners similar heavy sentences. -
Persecution of Elderly Practitioner Mr. Yang Xiu from Lingyuan, Liaoning Province
2007-10-25On October 1st, 2007, Najie police arrested practitioner Mr. Yang Xiu, 66, because he was publicly distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the truth about Falun Dafa. He was taken to a detention centre. In 2003 he had been also detained and ruthlessly tortured. Police ordered prisoners to hold Mr. Yang to the ground and put a helmet on him. Then, a group of police officers shocked his head, neck and chest with electric batons. Mr. Yang was screaming because of excruciating pain. His head, neck, chest and back were covered with red dots and yellow blisters. All prisoners witnessed this. -
Ms. Sun Chongzhen and Mr. Chen Guiyun Arrested Again by 610 Office Agents in Junan County, Shandong Province
2007-10-25Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Sun Chongzhen and Mr. Chen Guiyun were arrested by agents of the 610 Office and local police on October 8th, 2007. Mr. Chen was taken to a detention centre and his wife was forced to leave home to avoid being arrested. In 2003 Ms. Sun Chongzhen was detained at a detention centre. During this period, she was tortured by being hung from the ceiling by her wrists and being put in solitary confinement. During this period, her mother-in-law and her brother passed away, and she was not allowed to see them for a last visit.
