  In the beginning of February 2004, most public roads were covered by heavy snow in many villages of Qingshan County and travel by vehicle was treacherous. In order to bring convenience to everyone, Falun Gong practitioners in Nianyu Village, Qingshan County overcame the cold weather and shovelled the snow from public roads. After digging out a police vehicle, however, at least 16 Falun Gong practitioners were arrested. The reason was that they were Falun Gong practitioners and they did good deeds in public; therefore their homes were searched and they were arrested.

• Running the Campaign of Terror: "610 Office" Head Luo Gan's Role and Crimes in the Persecution of Falun Gong

  In April 2002, Luo Gan issued orders to the political and judiciary departments of Heilongjiang, ordering the arrest of 6,000 Falun Gong practitioners to be carried out within a period of three months. The police were told, "Don't bother with those that committed crimes, such as murder, arson or any other criminal offence." Practitioners released on medical parole, practitioners released after going on hunger strike, practitioners who refused to write pledges or who once went to Beijing to appeal again became the targets of arrest.

  I asked my neighbour's 4-year-old son, Bao Bao, "Do you want to go to school when you are older?" Bao Bao said, "I don't want to go; school is terrible." I asked, "How do you know it's terrible?" Bao Bao said, "Granny went to school, and she can't come home. Mum took me to school to see her. The school had locked granny in a room. There are steel rods and a lock on the door. Granny can't come out. She even has to go to the toilet in there. There is no bed, so she has to sleep on the floor.

  Certain lawless authorities were very panicked after Falun Dafa practitioners in Xingtai City and Shahe City, Hubei Province successfully inserted signals clarifying the truth about Falun Gong into a local TV programme around the Chinese New Year. The Hebei Province Party Committee ordered Xingtai City to "solve the case" by a deadline; otherwise the mayor would be fired. In the meantime, some officers from Hebei Province Police Department stationed in the Yongnian area have arrested several practitioners.

  Under the pressure of all the threats, no relatives dared to accommodate Yanli. Yanli lost her residence after the school expelled her; and she could not gain residence at home because the Dongsan Road Police Station refused to accept her application because she practised Dafa. Yanli's ailing father was unable to suffer any more hardship and coercion; he passed away on December 2, 2002 at only 54, leaving his 13-year-old son who was being cared for by Yanli's uncle. A good family was destroyed.

• Twenty Practitioners Arrested by the "610 Office" in Shiyan City

  In late August 2003, following large-scale efforts by practitioners to expose the persecution, the authorities established a 'Law Education Base' (brainwashing centre) to be headed by the deputy secretary of the City Political and Judiciary Committee and the "610 Office" director, Lu Jinchang. They had the City Criminal Police Branch leader and the assistant director of the "610 Office," Zhu Bangyi, lead policemen to convert hotels and motels into bases for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Police arrested dozens of practitioners, sent them to a labour camp, detained, or forced them to go to a brainwashing centre.

• Heilongjiang Province: Corrupt Police Frame and Arrest a Woman then Send Her Son to a Nursing Home

  On October 28, 2003, Ju Qingsong, together with another policeman name Fu, broke into the house of practitioner Li Xiuqin when she was not there. Li's neighbour witnessed the break-in. They did not find anything in her home, so they planted a bag of materials in her room. When Li came back home, the police arrested her. A policeman went into her room and took out the bag of Dafa flyers. The police told people that she was arrested when she was distributing flyers outside. The police then sent her 11-year-old child to the local nursing home. The child did not want to go there and cried nonstop. The local Director of the Residential Committee also shed tears. However, the policemen, who were only interested in making money by catching Falun Gong practitioners, and had no sympathy at all.

However, without any mercy, the police sentenced Li Li to one year in a forced labour camp and Ms. Meng to two years. As a result, Li Li's mental condition has deteriorated, and it has brought tremendous suffering to the family. All the neighbours have denounced the police's brutality. In persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, Jiang Zemin's followers never consider the law, let alone humanitarian concerns.

• Heilongjiang Province: Chinese Citizens Call the State Security Bureau in Daqing City "Shameless"

  Around 5:00 a.m. on September 6, 2002, the Head of the State Security Bureau in Daqing City, Mr. Lin Shaojun, led a large squad of police officers to the outside of the apartment building where Dafa practitioners Mr. and Mrs. Guan Zhaoqi resided, attempting to abduct them from their home. Mr. Guan Zhaoqi refused to open the door of the apartment building, so Lin Shaojun called to Mr. Guan from the ground floor, "Open the door. We did not come to arrest you. We noticed that there was a water leak from the roof, so we want to help you repair the roof." Upon hearing such a ridiculous lie, many residents in the apartment building began to reproach Mr. Lin out loud, "Trust an idiot to run the State Security Bureau! It's nobody's business whether we need to repair our roof!"

• Hubei Province: The Persecution of Dafa Practitioners in Wuhan City

  Recently, Jiang Zemin visited Wuhan City, Hubei Province. Thereafter, a new round of persecution against Dafa practitioners in the Xinzhou area of Wuhan City was initiated....The thugs then searched Mr. Guo's home and really made a mess. In this emergency situation, Mr. Guo's wife ran out of the house and shouted loudly for help. When people in the neighbourhood came, they found that eight men were trying to leave in a hurry. Mrs Zhang realised that something was wrong, rushed into the room and saw that Mr. Guo was lying on the floor and there was blood all over his body, face and the floor. The neighbours carried him to a bed, but when they couldn't stop his bleeding, the family rushed Mr. Guo to the emergency room of the People's Hospital of Xinzhou District. But his injuries were too severe and he was pronounced dead at 8:00 pm on October 31, 2003.

• Huludao City Police Round Up Practitioners For Brainwashing

  On October 22, 50-year-old Mr. Zhang Dongxue was taken to the Xingcheng Brainwashing Centre by Lianshan Police Station officers. After a day and a night of torture, he was vomiting blood. The "610 Office" was afraid that he might die at the brainwashing centre so they took him home, demanding a deposit of 2,000 Yuan, which the Zhang's family refused to pay. Over a year ago, Mr. Zhang Wenxue was fined over 10,000 Yuan by the police. Ms. Ru Yuehong, from Lianshan District, along with several other practitioners, was taken to Xingcheng Brainwashing Centre. The local police are still furiously rounding up practitioners.

  Policeman Song Jiancheng once intruded into a private residence by climbing over a barrier in the winter of 2000. He kidnapped a female Dafa practitioner and illegally sentenced her to one year of labour education. This female Dafa practitioner's child was very small and still being breast-fed at the time. Her husband was working away from home and her mother-in-law was in another province. Nobody was left at home to take care of the little baby.

He had just been released after being jailed for over a year for not giving up Falun Dafa. On July 30, he was again abducted by the airport police station. His whereabouts is currently unknown.

  The police was afraid that if Liu Chengjun were burned to death, their superior would blame them, so they dragged him out of the pile. His face, buttocks, the back of his hands and feet were injured, especially the back of his hands. The police stripped off all of his clothes except his underpants. The police handcuffed and shackled him. One officer pulled out a gun and shot him twice in the thigh, shouting, "Now where are you going to hide?" Another police officer shouted hysterically, "Beat him to death!"
