Mr. Wang Xiaozhong, 36, a Falun Gong practitioner from Mudanjiang City, was arrested at home on August 17th, 2001. The police notified his family of his death 12 days later.
An employee of the Xinglong Detention Centre where Mr. Wang was detained said that Mr. Wang was transferred to Beifang Hospital around midnight. His family were told that Mr. Wang died from a brain haemorrhage.
According to inside information, Mr. Wang's organs, such as his heart, liver and lungs were removed in the hospital and frozen. There was a long cut from his jaw to his pubis. His arms and legs were purple.
The day before Mr. Wang's death, his wife went to see him. He told her that the guards had used electric batons to shock him and mentioned that the food was very poor.
Although he died the next day, his family was not notified until the day after. They were told that he died of a brain haemorrhage and that the detention centre had nothing to do with it.
People who knew him say that he was in excellent health.
