Certain leaders in the Huangpu Power Plant in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province have been closely going along with Jiang's regime by actively persecuting Dafa practitioners in the power plant. They demanded every employee take a stand against Falun Gong and sign their names to denounce Falun Gong. They initially held several brainwashing sessions in the plant. However they were firmly rejected by Dafa practitioners. So they then colluded with the local "610 Office" and sent determined practitioners to the Huangpu Brainwashing Centre. Later on some practitioners were forced to leave their homes in order to avoid further persecution. [The 610 Office is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political or judicial systems].

Dafa practitioner Su Mei is a doctor at the plant-owned clinic. After she was sent to the Huangpu Brainwashing Centre, she firmly resisted the evil persecution. Later she was diagnosed with a heart problem and other ailments. After being released, she was forced to become homeless to avoid persecution. She kept on clarifying the truth. One day while distributing Dafa flyers, she was caught by staff from her own work place and the "610 Office", who had been following her. She was arrested again. Despite the fact that she still had not recovered from her illnesses, her work unit insisted on saying that she was fine and sent her to the Sanshui Labour Camp in Guangdong Province. While in detention, she suffered various inhumane tortures. She was beaten, cursed at, strictly monitored, forced to drink sewage water, and had her head pressed into a toilet bowl. It's said her legs were broken due to the beating. The labour camp also did not allow her family to visit her. After learning of her tragedy, her sister, who lives in the United States, came to China to see her. At first, the labour camp did not allow her sister to see her. Later they changed their mind and allowed the visit. After her sister returned to the U.S., she wrote to the labour camp, warning them that she would expose their crimes to the international community if they continued persecuting her sister. Afterwards, the labour camp lessened their persecution a little bit, but Su Mei's current situation is not clear.
