With the help of German human rights organisations and the German Government, Ms. Xiong Wei, a Falun Gong practitioner who recently returned to Germany after two years imprisoned in China for distributing Falun Gong leaflets, continuously meets with German media to expose the cruel persecution she suffered in labour camps and thank the German people and the international community for helping her gain freedom. The following is a report by RFA special correspondent Tian Yi in Germany:
Last Wednesday, Ms. Xiong Wei, who was imprisoned for two years due to her disagreement with the Chinese Government’s persecution against Falun Gong, successfully returned to Germany with the help of German human rights organisations as well as the German Government. In a week, relevant people, such as German human rights organisations, accompanied her in a series of activities. According to this, one of the coordinators who formed a team to rescue Xiong Wei two years ago, Ms. Zheng Zhihong, a female scholar from China’s Zhejiang University, introduced the details of the rescue to reporters.
Ms. Xiong Wei introduced the cruel persecution she experienced and saw in the labour camps to German society with her personal experiences.
Ms. Zheng Zhihong also stated that this makes European society clearly feel that as long as the international society puts on some pressure, the persecution could be made less severe. Therefore, they will continue with their efforts to stop the cruel persecution against Falun Gong in China together with international human rights organisations.
