Mr. Zhou Jiwu, 50, lived in Fushun County, Liaoning Province. Wujiabao Forced Labour Camp, Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Centre and Fushun Detention Centre persecuted him over a long time, solely for refusing to renounce Falun Gong. On top of that, the township officials hired one of his neighbours to monitor him. Given this long-term persecution, both his body and mind suffered extensive damage. He died from suffering such injustice on the evening of November 5, 2004.
In 2000, the local government officials abducted Mr. Zhou's wife and son and sent them to the local detention centre. (All of Mr. Zhou's family members are practitioners.) Neither official threats nor bullying changed Mr. Zhou's mind. He did not succumb to their pressure.
On June 3, 2003, Mr. Zhou was turned in and then abducted by the county public security bureau and police. They sent him to Wujiabao Forced Labour Camp.
Mr. Zhou was supposed to be released from the forced labour camp at the end of June 2004. Alas, he was not released because he refused to sign the "Reformation Statement" [A statement to declare that he or she is remorseful for practising Falun Gong and guarantees not to practise Falun Gong again]. Instead, he was transferred to a Brainwashing Centre. There, he remained true to his cause and refused to be "reformed." Consequently, he was once again sent back to Fushun Detention Centre. Given this long term persecution, Mr. Zhou's body and mind suffered extensive damage. His lungs were filled with fluid and many shadows that bode ill.
He was brought home end of September 2004. He died from suffering such injustice on the evening of November 5, 2004.
