A friendly subway ticket seller
Two Falun Gong practitioners often go to the subway to hand out information about Falun Gong and soon became friendly with a ticket seller at the subway entrance. Later, when seeing their familiar faces, the ticket seller would stop them and ask for some Falun Dafa material before they entered the subway.
"All of us know about Falun Gong."
Two college students arrived to view the Falun Gong display board on a rainy day. Practitioners came over and told them the facts about Falun Gong. One student replied, "We learnt this in our ethics class. The teacher assigned Falun Gong as a discussion topic, handed out information about Falun Dafa to each student, and had us discuss this. All of us know about Falun Gong."
"I am worried that those products may be produced by prison labour."
A woman who often passes by our Anti-Torture Exhibition displays expressed her concern about the persecution in China. One day she told one of our practitioners that she used to buy products made in China for her child because they were inexpensive. She continued, "Now, I do not want to buy anything that is made in China. I am worried that those products may be produced using prison labour."
When practitioners asked her to send a postcard to her Congressman asking for support to rescue Charles Li, who is serving an illegal sentence in a Chinese prison, she was so glad that she could do something to help a practitioner in China. She ended up taking more postcards, saying she would distribute them to her friends.
"Your effort will not be wasted."
A woman told us that she and her co-workers often discussed Falun Gong. She mentioned that our efforts would not be wasted and that Falun Gong had touched their lives.
"How may we help?"
Once I handed out a leaflet to a man passing by. He returned a few minutes later and asked me, "What is this all about? I really would like to know about it." I tried to explain by pointing to the pictures in the handouts, "Look, if you were in China and practised Falun Gong, if you were just sitting there quietly, you could be persecuted or even tortured to death." His eyes grew large, and he was shocked. Later he brought his friends over and had me explain again what was happening in China to practitioners. After listening, he asked, "How may we help?" I showed him the guide for supporting Falun Gong printed in the handout. He said that he would do his best to help.
