Persecution and Extortion at Hebei Normal University

At the end of 1999 Falun Dafa practitioners, An Qiufen and Li Man, students from the department of education, went to Beijing to appeal and were dismissed from the school. The security division ransacked their apartments and confiscated their precious Falun Dafa books. Both of them were escorted back to their hometowns, detained and persecuted. In September 2000, the parents of Li Man spent 10,000 Yuan lobbying officials to let Li Man go back to school. During this period, Zhang Hushan, the president of the department and Hu Nan, the director of her class, tried many times to force her to "expose and criticize" Falun Dafa during the assembly of the whole university. Li Man had to leave the school and do temporary work to make a living. In January 2001, she was illegally sent to Shijiazhuang Forced Labour camp because she made Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials. The leaders of her university have no concern for her well being, and allow her to suffer the persecution. In September 2001, a student in the Department of Chinese Language was dismissed because she refused to write the "guarantee letters".

It is said that the security division together with some unlawful thugs recently abducted four or five teachers and sent them to a brainwashing class. A teacher from the department of physics was abducted during a break when he was teaching a class. Two retired employees, Zhang Xiuzhen and Liu Aiyang, were abducted by the security division too, and were sent to the brainwashing class. The person in charge is team leader Ma from the Judicial Bureau.
