Fourteen Practitioners from Hunan, Shandong, Guangdong, Heilongjiang, and Other Provinces Who Died as a Result of Persecution

Ms. Luo Chunhua, 37 years old, was a resident of Liuyang City, Hunan Province. In June 2001 police officers from the Huaichuan Police Station in Liuyang City arrested her when she was sending out leaflets exposing the persecution about Falun Gong. At noon on June 30, during the inquest process, a policeman fiercely punched her on the back, immediately resulting in her vomiting blood and passing out. Later she was sentenced two years in jail where the injury to her back gradually got worse, and she vomited blood constantly. She was then transferred to the Liuyang City Hospital where, although her medical history never showed any tuberculosis, she was, nevertheless, treated as a tuberculosis patient. The hospital could not save her. Ms. Luo died in the winter of 2001. After she died, the 610 Office (1) didn't allow her family to mourn for her. Her body was immediately cremated.

Mr. Zhang Yonghua, 73 years old, lived in a village near Laiwu City, Shandong Province. After he practised Falun Gong he quit drinking, a habit he had for over fifty years. He no longer needed to wear bifocals. Black hair also grew on his bald head. After Jiang's Regime started to persecute Falun Dafa in 1999, officers from the local police station and from the 610 Office frequently harassed Mr. Zhang. In 2000 his five children went to Beijing to appeal. All of them were detained and persecuted. The police took this opportunity to extort money from Mr. Zhang. The policemen also searched his son's home and took away a lorry load of copper coils that were used for repairing electric machinery. Liu Qing from the Political & Security Section handcuffed his second oldest daughter to a telegraph pole for half a day. They also extorted money from her. Later she was sentenced to three years of forced labour. She is still locked up in the No.1 Women's Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province. His third oldest daughter, who was locked up in detention centres twice and was sentenced to three years in a forced labour camp, is now free. His fourth oldest daughter was detained twice. With so much persecution to his family and so many threats, his healthy body deteriorated. After he heard that his two daughters were locked up in forced labour camps, he never got out of bed. Mr. Zhang died on November 10, 2002. He still didn't get to see his two daughters, even when he was on his deathbed.

Mr. Tian Yanwu, over 70 years old, was a resident of Heze, Shandong Province. After he started to practise Falun Gong his diseases such as hypertension immediately disappeared. Although he was already over 70 years old, he looked like he was only 60 years old. After July 20, 1999 officers from the town police station interrogated, beat and otherwise persecuted him, which made him unable to practise Falun Gong. His old illnesses recurred. Having no money for treatment, he became paralysed and died in 2003.

Mr. Zhang Xiaoyuan, 56 years old, was a resident of Heze, Shandong Province. He started to practise Falun Dafa in 1998. After only one month, all of his Hepatitis B symptoms disappeared and he became healthy. After July 20, 1999, he was persecuted both mentally and physically. Mr. Zhang died in the spring of 2001.

Ms. Wei Cuihua, 55 years old, was a villager in Dacao Village, Laiwu City, Shandong Province. After she started to practise Falun Gong in 1997, she had a huge change in both mind and body. After the persecution of Falun Gong started on July 20, 1999, the police broke into her house to harass her family many times. She thus couldn't study the teachings and do the exercises normally, which resulted in her old illnesses recurring. Ms. Wei died on January 14, 2004.

Mr. Li Qiang, 71 years old, was a resident of Mazhang Town, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province. Before he practised Falun Gong he suffered from several diseases. Since he began practising Falun Gong in 1999, he no longer had any illnesses and was very healthy. After July 20, 1999, officers from the local police station often came to his home to terrify him and to search his home. They detained his practitioner wife many times. Mr. Li felt very pained and sad because of the harassment and threats, which resulted in his old illnesses recurring. Mr. Li died on March 6, 2005.

Mr. Liang Munan, 66 years old, was a resident of Mazhang Town, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province. Before he practised Falun Gong he suffered from tracheitis, heart disease and other diseases and his condition was serious. However, he started practising Falun Gong, became completely healthy and had a glowing face. The police locked Mr. Liang up at the local police station. Then they searched his home and confiscated all of his Dafa books. Because the police frequently harassed and terrified him to get him to quit practising, all of his old illnesses recurred and he died on September 1, 2001.

Mr. Chen Quan, 56 years old, was a resident of Mazhang Town, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province. In September and October of 1999, he was twice sent to forced labour camps and the police extorted 560 Yuan (1) from him. Local police officers continually harassed him and severely harmed him both mentally and physically. After the 2000 Chinese New Year, he and fellow practitioners went to Beijing to appeal to the government to stop the persecution and all were arrested. When he was set free in the evening and just arrived home he was arrested again, together with his wife. The police extorted more than 3,000 Yuan from them. The police demanded that the whole family give up practising. Chen Quan was persecuted so severely that he become mentally traumatised and jumped from a high building. Mr. Chen died on March 7, 2000.

Ms. Feng Yawen was a teacher from Hegang City's No. 18 high school, Heilongjiang Province. On New Year's Day 2003 she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. The police arrested and persecuted her to the point of her becoming mentally traumatised. After she returned home she jumped from a building but she didn't die. That same day she went to lie on the railway tracks and died.

Mr. Zhou Wei, 66 years old, was a Dafa practitioner employed at the Yuquan Cable Plant, Acheng City, Heilongjiang Province. The Yuquan Police Department and the "610 Office" (2) as well as the Security Section chief of the cable plant frequently harassed him. Under the high pressure of the persecution he contracted icterus. Later, the disease turned into liver cancer. Mr. Zhou died in 2000.

Ms. Zhang Yufang, 53 years old, was a resident of Hailun, Heilongjiang Province. She suffered from ovarian cancer in 1997 and spent over ten thousand Yuan in medical fees. She started to practise Falun Dafa late in 1997. After two months of practising her illness totally disappeared. After July 20, 1999, the police constantly harassed her. She felt physically and mentally exhausted and her old illness recurred. Ms. Zhang died on April 21, 2001.

Ms. Gao Yujuan, 83 years old, lived in Tangshan City, Hebei Province. After she started practising Falun Dafa, all her illnesses healed. Her white hair turned black and she grew new teeth. After July 20, 1999, her second oldest daughter was arrested and sentenced to forced labour because she told people the truth about Falun Dafa. They didn't allow Ms. Gao to visit her daughter. The 610 Office and leaders from her daughter's workplace often harassed her. Ms Gao was severely mentally tormented. She died on January 3, 2003.

Ms. Zhang Yanying, 64 years old, was a resident of Luotun Town, Qianxi County, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. She suffered from severe emphysema. After she started to practise Falun Gong she recovered. After the CCP began to persecute Falun Dafa, Ms. Zhang was arrested and twice held in a detention centre because she passed out Falun Dafa leaflets exposing the persecution . In October 2002 Ms. Zhang was again arrested and sent to a brainwashing centre to be tortured. Her body and mind were severely harmed. Ms. Zhang died on February 10, 2005.

Ms. Wang Junmei, 62 years old, was a practitioner from Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. Before she learned Falun Dafa she suffered from heart disease, arthritis and many other illnesses. After she began to practise Falun Dafa, all these illnesses disappeared. She introduced many people to Falun Dafa and they became practitioners. After July 20, 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal and was locked up in the Wuyilu Police Station in the Qiaodong District. Due to long-term mental torment and high pressure she got sick. Ms. Wang died on April 9, 2005.

Ms. Zhou Fenglian, 64 years old, was a Dafa practitioner from Liaoning Province. She started to practise Falun Gong in 1996. In May 2002, Ms. Zhou was sent to a brainwashing centre where she was inhumanly tortured. One month after being sent there, Ms. Zhou died on the way from the brainwashing centre to a hospital for emergency care.

Ms. Chen Chunmei, 63 years old, was a Dafa practitioner who lived in Jinzhou District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province. After July 20, 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practise Falun Gong and was locked up. After coming back, the local police station and some people from the community often went to her home to harass her. Because she was frightened and mentally tormented for a long period of time, Ms Chen died on July 21, 2003.

Mr. Zhang Guangxiao was a Dafa practitioner from Tonghua City, Jilin Province. He had symptoms of a stroke before and after he practised Falun Gong. After July 20, 1999, Mr. Zhang's wife Ms. Liu Li was arrested and sentenced to a forced labour camp. This was a huge shock to him. His condition deteriorated and he eventually died.

Ms. Liu Huifen, about 70 years old, was a retired worker from a state-owned enterprise in Pi County, Sichuan Province. After she started practising Falun Gong, she became very healthy. After July 20, 1999, the police often threatened her. They forced her to hand over her Dafa books and write a Guarantee Statement to stop practising against her will. They even asked her son-in-law to pressure and monitor her. Ms. Liu couldn't study the Falun Dafa teachings and do the exercises normally. Her spirit was also heavily damaged. Beginning in 2001 she started to feel uncomfortable. Her condition deteriorated and Ms. Liu died in the middle of February 2005.

Mr. Gong Haoran, 65 years old, was an employee of City Planning Committee in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. He was paralysed from a stroke. After he left the hospital in 1997, he started to practise Falun Gong. Through studying the teachings and doing the exercises, his condition improved. After the persecution started in 1999, his wife persisted in practising and was sentenced to two-years of forced labour. He thus had nobody to take care of him. At the same time he was also severely frightened and felt persecuted. His health deteriorated. When he was in emergency care one month prior to his death, they still wouldn't allow his wife to take care of him. They didn't permit his wife to see him even after his death. Mr. Gong died as a result of the persecution on December 26, 2004.
