Another Case of Forced Abortion

The following is the account of another practitioner who was also forced to have an abortion because she practised Falun Gong.
“Beginning in July of 1999, the policemen from the local station continually harassed my husband and me for practicing Falun Dafa. They threatened us, trying to make us give up the practice and often took us to the police station in order to intentionally interfere with our normal work and lives. In February of 2000, my husband and I went to Beijing to appeal. Before going, we parked our bikes at the county practice site. The county police department illegally confiscated the bikes that were worth about 640 Yuan. In May of 2000, the Township Party Committee drove away our tricycle and requested that we pay 300 a Yuan "tax" to get it back.

In November of 2000, the county police department and policemen of the town police station jointly ransacked our house and took away Teacher Li’s [the founder of Falun Gong] picture, exercise music tapes and detained me in the brainwashing class in town. While there, I was severely tortured and forced to have an abortion (I was 4 months pregnant at the time). I experienced massive haemorrhaging as a result of the forced procedure. The evil people saw that my life was in danger and were afraid of being responsible for my death, so they sent me home.

However, they dismissed me from my position as a kindergarten teacher and reduced my salary. I was only paid 180 Yuan per month [Note: 500 Yuan is the average monthly salary paid to urban workers in China].”
