Independence Day is a big celebration in Philadelphia, the birthplace of the Declaration of Independence. The eight-day-long celebration of the 230th anniversary of Independence Day ended with a joyous atmosphere of a traditional parade, a concert and fireworks on the evening of July 4th, 2006. More than one million people from all over the world gathered along Ben Franklin Ave. to watch the parade. Falun Gong participated in the parade as the only Chinese-American group. The one hundred person strong Divine Land Marching Band showed its mighty bearing in the parade and won countless cheers from the parade spectators.
