During the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, over ten practitioners from Panjin City, Liaoning Province were arrested by police in their homes, and Ms. Yang Jingfen lost her life.
Ms. Yang Jingfen, fifty-nine-years-old, was retired from the Liaohe Oilfield Electric Company. She was honest and kind. In addition to house chores she mainly took care of her grandchildren. Because she practised Falun Gong, six policemen from Xinglongtai District National Security Battalion broke into her home in the Shiji Subdivision on August 18th 2008 around 7:30 am. The leader waved his name badge and told her husband: "Yang Jingfen is suspected of being a Falun Gong practitioner, we will take her away."
Yang Jingfeng asked the police: "What kind of crime have I committed ? Why should I go with you?" The police did not answer the question, but began to search the home with a search warrant. Even though they could not find any criminal evidence, they still wanted to arrest her.
Both parties refused to budge until 9 a.m., when her husband had to take something to their grandchild. Six policemen, Yang Jingfeng and her two-year-old grandson were left at the home. After her husband came back around 9:30 a.m., he found out she was dead in front of their apartment building. The policemen told him that she had jumped to her death.
Why would she jump to her death? What were the six policemen doing in her home at the time?
Yang Jingfeng's death shocked the subdivision of "Shiji"or "Happiness"and also the staff at the Electric company. Why did the police behave this way? Whether she jumped to escape persecution or was pushed out the window, aren't the police responsible for her death in either case?
