Dr. Wang Yuchuan, is a surgeon at Zhaogezhuang Hospital in Guye District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. She is very popular with the patients. In 1998, she began practising Falun Gong and followed the standard of Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance to become a good person.
In July 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started to persecute Falun Gong. In February 2000, Dr. Wang went to Beijing to appeal for justice for the practice and told authorities, "Falun Gong is good. I wish the government would let us practise it." For uttering these words, she lost her personal freedom for three years and eight months. The following article details what she endured those three years : http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2003/2/27/32643.html
At 11 p.m. on August 7th, 2008, the day before the Beijing Olympic Games started, she was once again arrested and taken to Zhaogezhuang Guest House by CCP Secretary of Zhaogezhuang Hospital Cui Xinglong, Director of the hospital Wang Jianshan, and others. They were following orders from the Kailuan 610 Office1, Secretary of Kailuan Hospital Kan Zhisheng, and Deputy Secretary Liu Jianguo, who prevented her from going to Beijing. She was detained for 22 days. She was not allowed to work or visit with her parents. Three people monitored her during the day and four people at night to prevent her from escaping.
After making several demands, she is now working again, but hospital officials make her carry a mobile phone that has to be be on 24 hours a day. In other words, she is being monitored around the clock. Hospital administrative staff call her every night to confirm she is at home and not off to Beijing.
