Austria: Raising Awareness of the Chinese Communist Regime’s Persecution of Falun Gong at the Salzburg Festival.

Salzburg in Austria was Mozart's place of birth, which is famous for its beautiful scenery. In August every year, the Salzburg Festival is held there and attracts a lot of Austrians and foreign tourists from around the world to visit the city. On August 30th, Falun Gong practitioners held 'information day' activities in Salzburg Castle to expose the Chinese Communist regime’s atrocities of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Many tourists lined up to sign the petition against the persecution to show their support for Falun Gong practitioners.

A Chinese student studying in Germany said: “I know the situation about the persecution of Falun Gong.”
“I know the facts about Falun Gong and the situation about the Chinese Communist regime’s persecution of Falun Gong.” He further added that he thought the persecution is wrong.

An American from Washington D.C. told the Falun Gong practitioners that he knew about the situation of the Chinese Communist regime’s persecution against Falun Gong practitioners and that he had seen Falun Gong practitioners’ parade in Washington D.C. In addition, he also expressed that he was pleased to see Falun Gong practitioners again in Austria and he supported the activities organised by the Falun Gong practitioners.

After viewing the display boards, a tourist from Nepal approached the information booth and asked if he could sign the petition against the persecution. He also expressed his support for Falun Gong practitioners.

An Irish tourist who came to Austria along with his wife and a child also said that he heard about Falun Gong in the past but didn’t really know what it is all about, so he asked a practitioner for more information. After hearing the facts about the persecution, they signed the petition to support Falun Gong.

After hearing the facts about Falun Gong, a local resident told the practitioners that he would like to learn the Falun Gong exercises as soon as possible.
