Three Women Arrested in Front of the Court in Jilin City, Jilin Province

At approximately 10:00 a.m. on November 11th, 2008, in front of the Chuanying District Court, three women in their fifties and sixties were arrested for shouting "Falun Gong is good."

That morning, inside the building, the trial of three practitioners, Mr. Liu Chengda, Mr. Wang Ying, and Mr. Li Hailong, was held, ending at about 10:30 a.m. At 10:45 a.m., the police van with the three practitioners who were on trial was leaving the courtyard, while the crowd at the gate shouted, "Falun Gong is good! Falun Gong is good!"

As the crowd dispersed, a man who looked like a leader ran from the back of the crowd to a red Chevrolet parked across the street and shouted to the driver, "Where are your men?" He then pointed towards the crowd and said, "It was those three people." The person in the red car asked, "Should I go and take their pictures?" The leader said, "Arrest them now."

The red car and a silver minivan then drove towards the crowd. On the west side of Jiefang Boulevard, a woman was grabbed by the driver of the red car. Her clothes were torn during the struggle. The man made a phone call to one of his men, who soon arrived, and together they pushed the woman into the car. Also on this side of Jiefang Boulevard, another woman was pushed into the silver minivan. On the east side of Jiefang Boulevard, a man was pushing a woman across the lawn. A white police van tagged Ji B-0531 approached and stopped. Two police officers stepped out and helped the man to lift the woman into the police van.

The red car and the silver minivan, each with their respective arrestee, drove away northbound, along Jiefang Boulevard. The police van stopped after some distance. It appeared that the arrested woman had tried to escape. A plain clothes police officer pushed the door against her, then got into the van and drove away quickly. The people inside the van were seen pushing the woman down in the leaving van.

When the police van passed the west side of Jilin City Government Building and neared the Hongboyuyuan community, the red car and another police vehicle arrived from opposite directions. The three vehicles drove through the gate in the south side of the Hongboyuyuan community, turned left, and disappeared. These three innocent citizens were arrested in public without procedure. This was the actions of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
