Give Me Back My Dad, Give Me Back My Teacher

I saw news on the Minghui website [Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net] about another "large scale investigation" in Mengyin County, Shandong Province. My father's name and my previous high school teacher's name were both there.

I rushed to call my family, and my mother hid it from me at first because she didn't want me to worry while I was away at school. After many requests, she told me that it happened on March 17th. I can only imagine what kind of hardships they might have endured. I would like to say a few things about the kind of people that my dad and teacher are, and ask why their freedom and beliefs were taken away.

My dad Cui Hongde is a very kind man and would never harm anyone. He takes great care of me and my younger brother. A very warm-hearted man, he never hesitates to help those around him. He is very honest and has taught us how to be good people since we were young. My dad is very patient and endures all kinds of hardships with no complaints. He shows no interest in being a part of politics.

In 2002, my father was detained and sent to a labour camp for around two years. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) slandered him and even told my mother that he had an affair to try to break up our family.

Dad used to be very handsome, but when he returned home, his hair had turned grey. He is now detained again, and I can't imagine what's going to happen to him.

Ms. Liu Duanai was my Chinese language teacher when I was a freshman in high school. I was the class representative for the Chinese language class and communicated with Teacher Liu a lot. She was very strict as a teacher, but a very gentle person. Teacher Liu taught us about the beauty of the Chinese language, as well as the importance of personal integrity.

I was only 15 or 16 years old when I was a freshman in high school. Sometimes I got confused about many things and even cried a lot when I didn't do well on an exam. Teacher Liu listened to me patiently and then encouraged me to look ahead and do better on the next exam. Her look, so firm and gentle at the same time, has remained deeply engraved in my heart.

The last time I saw Ms. Liu was about six or seven years ago. Such a kind teacher was attacked by the 610 Office¹ only because she practises Falun Gong. How can that be right?
