Supplemental Information Regarding Ms. He Zhiwei's Arrest in Zhuhai City

Ms. He Zhiwei, 46, lives in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province. On the morning of April 9th, 2009, Ms. He was arrested in her home by personnel from the 610 Office¹, who broke in and carried her out of her house. They took her to the Sanshui Brainwashing Centre in Guangdong Province. Ms. He's elderly and sick mother, who is an invalid and cannot care for herself, is now on her own.

The 610 Office confiscated personal belongings and didn't provide any receipts. Later, they called and told her mother that the reason for Ms. He's arrest was because she had distributed Falun Gong information materials. In actuality, Ms. He had never left her home that morning. Besides, the only person she lives with is her mother, and whenever she goes out shopping, she hurries back because she devotes all her time to taking care of her 80-year-old mother.

It was not until around 3:00 a.m. the third day after Ms. He's arrest that family members finally arrived to take care of her mother. The 610 Office not only sent three people to watch her mother, they also had other suspicious looking people patrolling around her home.

Ms. He Zhiwei has been persecuted by the 610 Office for the past few years. She had just been released from two years in the Sanshui Forced Labour Camp when the Zhuhai 610 Office arrested her again and took her to the brainwashing centre, because she persisted in her belief. She was severely mistreated by Zhuhai 610 Office personnel.

Ever since she started practising Falun Gong, Ms. He has worked hard and taken her job responsibilities seriously. She never haggled over individual success or failure, and whatever she did, she considered others first. She often let her colleagues use her car, always smiled, and never complained. The leaders and co-workers at her workplace praised her and considered her a model citizen. Therefore, when officials from the 610 Office wanted to persecute her again, her supervisor spoke up and told them, "Don't mess with her, she really is a good person who believes in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." Every one of the reports on Minghui website [Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net] came from Ms. He's workplace, where she was employed as the deputy manager for the Customs Declaration Department. Why did her supervisor defend her? He was the one who had cooperated with the 610 Office when she was arrested the first time. When she was arrested, her job was terminated. Actually, management should have compensated her, because they had no one that could replace her. But she didn't receive any living expenses or compensation. Afterwards, Ms. He talked to the head of this department and asked him to clarify the situation. He showed remorse and felt awful because he was unable to undo his past wrongful acts. He told her that he would never forgive himself for what he had done to her. Because Falun Gong practitioners have compassionate hearts, Ms. He didn't blame him since she knew that he had acted under coercion and pressure. Her noble behaviour moved him profoundly.

The personnel from the Zhuhai 610 Office know quite well what kind of person Ms. He is. All these years of non stop persecution by the Party tore her originally happy family life apart, plus it hurt her financially as well as spiritually. Because of all this hardship, she left Zhuhai. She returned to Zhuhai this time to fulfil her responsibilities as a daughter and look after her ageing mother. She had been home for merely a month before she was arrested again by the 610 Office.
