Practitioners Tortured in Shandong Province Second Forced Labour Camp

The guards in the Second Forced Labour Camp, Shandong Province, have tortured Falun Gong practitioners for a time. They employ forced labour as well as physical and mental torture. Sometimes they order other prisoners to do the torturing for them.

Here is a partial list of the guards: Zheng Wanxin, Sun Fengjun, Wang Baohua, Liu Jichao, Zhang Yuhua, and Liu Lin.

On May 4th, 2008, prisoners Gao Wei and Yang Bo were supposed to be released. After breakfast, guard Sun Fengjun told Gao and Yang to help "transform¹" Mr. Sun Yugen, a Falun Gong practitioner, who was taken to the camp not long ago. Gao and Yang beat and kicked Mr. Sun until he was on the ground, moaning in pain. The two threatened Mr. Sun that they would beat him like that every day if he continued to refuse to "transform." Mr. Sun was beaten so badly that he had difficulty breathing and eating. He then signed the three statements denouncing Falun Gong against his will.

Another practitioner, Mr. Song Shufu, was beaten so badly that several of his front teeth fell out.

The guards, led by Zheng Wanxin, Liu Jichao and Wang Baohua, have also persecuted practitioners by imposing hard labour. Practitioners were forced to work twelve to thirteen hours per day, with only two days off a month, which was later reduced to one day a month.

According to the camp rules, prisoners older than 60 do not have to do hard labour. But the guards forced elderly practitioners to work and even set quotas for them. They punished those that did not finish their quota, forcing them to stand still facing a wall for extended periods of time. The guards often required practitioners to take work back to their cells, so they had to work during their supposed rest times as well. One day, Zheng Wanxin saw practitioner Mr. Wang Xiguo, who was very tired, fall asleep in the workshop. Zheng grabbed Mr. Wang's neck and began banging his head against a cement pillar.

During the past few years, several business owners have continued to cooperate with the guards in the labor camp and use practitioner slave labour. These include: Shandong Sanshui Cement Ltd., Shandong Mifeng Pen Ltd., and Zhoucun Tiancheng Electronics Company.
