On October 27th, 2007 officers from the Donggangxi Road Police Station in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province broke into Ms. Lv Guiru's home and attempted to force her to write a guarantee letter to give up Falun Gong by threatening to put her into a jail and to implicate her relatives. However, Ms. Lv refused them. Afterwards, Ms. Lv was forced to leave home. Since then, for almost two years officials from the Donggangxilu Police Station have continually sent workers from the Tianshui Road Community and some people to monitor her home and bang on her door.
Ms. Lv Guiru, 66 years old, always appealed for Falun Gong to the Gansu Province Government. Then officials from the Donggangxi Road Police Station went to her home to harass her many times, trying to force her to stop practising, to write the guarantee letter, and to sign and fingerprint it.
On October 27th, 2007, Ms. Lv was cooking at home. Policeman Yu from the Donggangxi Road Police Station again broke into her home and tried to force her to sign and put her fingerprint on a guarantee letter that was written by them. She refused and told him, "What you are doing is illegal." Yu answered angrily, "If you don't sign it, I will report you to the higher authority and ask them to harass you every day. They will arrest you and put you in jail. Aren't you afraid of that?" Ms. Lv replied, "Falun Gong teaches me to be a good person. How could you arrest me?" She subsequently tore the guarantee letter in half. Yu immediately snatched the two halves of the guarantee, pushed her, and shouted, "How dare you tear the guarantee letter! This is the evidence. I will report it to the higher authority; they will arrest you." He made a call for help and then left.
Ms. Lv Guiru and her relatives hurried to get some things together, and left their home in order to avoid further persecution.
About one hour later, Yu returned with another four policemen to arrest them. They kept battering the door, shouting and yelling, which disturbed all the neighbours around. At 6:00 p.m. on that day, Yu again returned with some policemen to arrest them. They again kept battering the door for a long time. For the following three days, they continued to do the same thing.
Because they hadn't found and arrested Ms. Lv, Yu sent some people from the Tianshuilu Community and the Coal Bureau to monitor her home, keeping it under watch every day. Yu also arranged for some unemployed people who lived on the fourth floor of that building to oversee the place day and night. As soon as someone comes back, they will call the police station at once, and officials there will immediately come to arrest them.
During June to August of 2008 when the Olympic Games were being arranged in Beijing, officials from the Gonggangxilu Police Station and the Tianshuilu Community again went to Ms. Lv's home to bang on the door. Finding they couldn't arrest anyone, they wrote the word "Die" on the door, and blocked the keyhole.
Ms. Lv left home in October 27th, 2007, almost two years ago. The Donggangxi Road Police Station is still arranging for the Tianshuilu Community to monitor her home; they are waiting for a chance to arrest her. Ms. Lv Guiru and her relatives cannot go home.
Ms. Lv Guiru started to practise Falun Gong in 1995. Before she started cultivating, she suffered from rheumatism and her body was very exhausted. She once passed out when being examined at a hospital. After she practised Falun Gong, all her illnesses disappeared without treatment. She has remained healthy since then.
