Several Dozen Practitioners Arrested in Zunhua City, Hebei Province

Officers from Zunhua City Police Department arrested around 50 Falun Gong practitioners in Jiazhuangzi Village, Puzidian Town, Zunhua City on May 10th. More than 20 are still detained.

Among the arrested practitioners, seven or eight live in Jiazhuangzi Village; four or five are from Jigezhuang Village; seven or eight live in Puzidian Town, including Ms. Wang Shuyun (68 years old) and Ms. Tian Shuxue (in her seventies); Mr. Xu Ziru and his wife are from Tang Quan Township; and some are from Haozhuang Village. Police ransacked Ms. Wang Shuyun's home and family-owned photography studio in Puzidian Town and took equipment including a computer, printer, and copier, among other personal property.

On May 12th, officers from the Zunhua City Department, 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), Domestic Security Division, and Xiliucun Town Police Station arrested Mr. Yan Fuxing and his wife, Mr. Sun Lin, and Mr. Yin Pu in Puchihe Village and ransacked their homes. Mr. Yan Fuxiang and his wife own a sesame oil store. Their products are excellent in quality and fair priced because they practise Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Police forcibly took them to Zunhua Brainwashing Centre.

The Zunhua City Detention Centre and Lubei Police Station have moved to a large compound in Dongsanli Village, and the brainwashing centre is hidden inside the detention centre. As of May 17th, about 20 practitioners have been released, including Ms. Tian Shuxue, Ms. Yan Xiuying, and Mr. Xu Ziru and his wife, who are older. They were each extorted of 2000 yuan¹ then 250 additional yuan for food cost.

There are still more than 20 practitioners detained in the brainwashing centre and detention centre. Besides Mr. Yan Fuxiang and his wife, Ms. Wang Shuyun and Ms. Zhao Yuxiang are also detained. Eight practitioners from Jiazhuangzi Village are detained in the detention centre, including Ms. Li Chunyan, Ms. Qi Shuling, Ms. Shi Yuping, Ms. Dang Xiaofen, Ms. Hao Yanqin, and Ms. Zhang Xiaoying.
