Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Zhao Mei and Ms. Huang Wanping from Songzi City, Hubei Province were arrested on May 18th, 2011 by officers from the Yanglin Township Police Station while they were distributing Falun Gong CDs. Later, they were transferred to Songzi City Detention Centre. Currently, these two practitioners are facing court sentencing.
Ms. Huang Wanping, about 70 years old, has a husband who has been paralysed for many years and she has had the role of his primary caretaker. Due to her belief in Falun Gong, she has now been arrested four times, leaving her husband home alone with no care.
Ms. Zhao Mei is in her forties. She was involved in a car accident in June 2005, prior to her practising Falun Gong. At that time, she was unemployed and divorced. She suffered from multiple fractures and the soft tissue in her right ankle had defects. With all this misfortune, she underwent great physical and psychological stress.
Some practitioners came to visit and gave her a copy of the Falun Gong book, book Zhuan Falun. She started reading it and understood the principles, and then decided to practise Falun Gong. Within one month, she was already able to get out of bed and could take care of herself. The doctor was amazed by her progress. Unfortunately, she has now been arrested four times by agents of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) because of her belief.
The two practitioners have been detained for ten days while the CCP perpetrators deliberate their sentences.
This time, the party directly responsible for the persecution of Ms. Zhao and Ms. Huang is Yanglin Township Police Station and director Zhou Gang.
Zhou Gang, male, is about 40 years old. When he first started working, he was kind to others. But later, under the direction of Li Xianjin (former head of Songzi City Domestic Security Team), Zhou Gang has become cunning and evil. (Zhou Gang’s mobile: 86-13986662566)
Zhou Gang has participated in multiple arrests, home ransacking, and sentencing of Falun Gong practitioners since 2001.
The following are cases of persecution of Falun Gong practitioners carried out by Zhou Gang:
While Zhou Gang was a political head at Jiehe Township Police Station between 2001 and 2003, he ransacked Ms. Zhang Tingxiu’s house several times. Whenever there was a sensitive day, he went to her home to harass her. He also participated in the ongoing persecution of Ms. Zhao Ying. He ransacked her house many times. Zhou Gang, along with perpetrators from Xizhai Police Station, stayed outside of Ms. Zhao’s house for a whole night once, which greatly disturbed the family.
Zhou Gang also participated in the persecution of Ms. Xia Guangfeng and Ms. Lei Tizhi from Jiehe Township between 2001 and 2003. He ransacked their houses and threatened them.
