On August 9th, three Falun Gong practitioners in Baoding City of Hebei Province were sentenced to forced labour and were taken to Hebei Women's Forced Labour Camp in Shijiazhuang City. The three are Ms. Wang Ping, Ms. Hao Zhiping and Ms. Wang Juan.
Ms. Wang Ping is a 46-year-old retired employee at China Mobile Communications Corporation Baoding Branch. She lives at the Jinzhuang Railroad Dormitory in Nanshi District of Baoding City.
On the morning of July 27th the police from Gaokai District arrested Ms. Wang while she was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution to passersby on the street. Around 8:30 pm four officers broke into Ms. Wang's home and took her cash and some of her personal belongings.
Ms. Wang was detained at the police station overnight. The police handcuffed her, they took away Falun Gong DVDs, cash and some other things she carried with her. During the process of interrogation, Zhang Dianhai, the deputy head of that police station, slapped her face twice.
Ms. Wang's parents went to the police station twice and demanded they release their daughter, but the police drove them away.
Ms. Wang was transferred to Baoding City Detention Centre on July 28th, and later to Hebei Women's Forced Labour Camp on August 9th.
Ms. Hao Zhiping is 53 years old, a retired employee of Baoding City 543 Factory. On the morning of July 27th, the police from Gaokai District arrested her to the police station when she was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution to the passersby on the street. On July 28th, she was detained at Baoding City Detention Centre, and later was transferred to Hebei Women's Forced Labour Camp on August 9th.
In 2005, Ms. Hao went to visit her in-laws in Changzhi City of Shanxi Province. The police arrested and sentenced her because she informed people information about Falun Gong. Later, a probation was executed. In December 2010, she was arrested to Xinshichang Police Station and detained there for one day and they extorted from her 1000 yuan1.
Ms. Wang Juan is 41 years old. Her parents were employees at the Air Force Cadre Sanatorium. She was arrested on the evening of August 3rd when she went to distribute leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong in Qingyuan County. Before she was transferred to Hebei Women's Forced Labour Camp on August 9th, she was detained at Baoding City Detention Centre.
