Since 2000, the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), under the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regime of Jiang Zemin, [former leader of China and instigator of the persecution], has been planning, opening, and operating brainwashing centres all over China. These centres are given names like “Law System School” or “Law System Study Class,” but they actually are illegally operating prisons, hidden from public view, where lies and violence are used to persecute innocent Falun Gong practitioners. The Wuchang Brainwashing Centre in Heilongjiang Province is one of them.
From 2000 to the present, more than 400 practitioners have been persecuted in the Wuchang Brainwashing Centre. This is an incomplete count since the facts have been covered up by the CCP. The centre is located on the first and second floors of an apartment inside the Wuchang City Family Planning Bureau family compound. There is no name plate outside, but it is well known to the residents of Wuchang City. The first room to the right of the gate on the first floor is where the practitioners are handcuffed and hung up. Its windows are always covered. The Helongjiang Province 610 Office directly manages the centre. The 610 Office director, Zhou, personally takes charge of it. For many years, not only practitioners from Heilongjiang Province, but also some from Jilin Province and Liaoning Province have been imprisoned there. In the last two years, most imprisoned practitioners were from the Daqing Oilfield Company and China Petroleum & Chemical Industry Corporation.
The director of the Brainwashing Centre is Fu Yanchun. He is also the deputy secretary of the Wuchang City Political and Judiciary Committee. Most of the newly imprisoned practitioners were immediately subjected to being suspended in the air day and night. The staff of the centre used violence to pressure them to “transform” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong]. Fun Yanchun added, “You may ask around and will be told that people have died here. Your death will be in vain. It will be counted as suicide. This is policy.” “The CCP is not reasonable. If you are strong, then you can sue us after you get out of here.” “I am in charge here. If you die, then what? This is a hell in human society.”
Fu beat practitioners. Grabbing a victim's hair and slapping his or her face are his common habits. The centre uses tortures such as the “big hang up,” “hanging in shape of a cross,” “the big hang up behind the back,” electric shocks, brutal beatings, etc. Some of these tortures are illustrated at http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2004/11/17/54624.html. The most common one nowadays is the big hang up behind the back. The victim is handcuffed behind the back and then “hung up” by the handcuffs, with his toes barely touching the ground. The victim afterwards suffers from serious problems such as numbness in the hands and feet, pain in the back and legs, cuts and scars on the hands, swollen hands and feet, difficulty walking, lameness, or even death.
Zhu Xianfu is the former CCP secretary of the Wuchang Brainwashing Centre. He is a veteran. He acted like a peacemaker but was one hundred percent active. He manages the daily activities in the centre.
Mo Zhenshan is the incumbent deputy director of the Wuchang Brainwashing Centre. He plays the roles of a peacemaker and an evildoer. He is in charge of brainwashing practitioners using evil lies and pressuring practitioners daily to write the three statements to renounce practising Falun Gong and so called “understandings” to defame Falun Gong. Evil hides behind his smile, and he plays dirty tricks in secret and pretends to understand. His position shifts with the wind. People call him “a person with a kind face and a cruel heart.” He took advantage of the persecution and has sold his soul for personal gain
Fu Yanchun and his son-in-law, Aming, are cruel evildoers that assist in the persecution. Fu and two others work full time at the centre. Others are temporary. Temporary workers Zhu Xianfu, Mo Zhenshan, Fu's second eldest sister-in-law, and Fu's second eldest brother Fu Yanbo pretend to be peacemakers. They report to Fu Yanchun when they cannot achieve their sinister goals. Fu and others then use torture and deceit to coerce practitioners to write the three statements.
Once a person writes the three statements, he will then be forced to re-write them every morning. They force practitioners they consider hard to “transform” or not totally “transformed” to write a paper that finds fault with Falun Gong every morning. In the daytime, they make practitioners “study” books and videos defaming and criticising Falun Gong, and to write false “understandings.” At night, they make practitioners play poker so they won't have time to meditate.
They threaten practitioners not to expose the crimes being committed in the centre. They extort money from local practitioners. They used to hold practitioners in the centre, extort money from them, release them, and extort money from them again after a while. In the recent two years, they have targeted the Daqing Oilfield Company, China Petroleum & Chemical Industry Corporation, and other such companies. Companies have to pay them over 20,000 yuan1 for each practitioner held in the centre and have to cough up more if the practitioner is held for an extended period of time. If police are involved with the arrest, the company has to pay another 10,000 yuan to the police. In addition, they do all they can to extort money from friends and relatives of practitioners. Some families of practitioners are forced to give them money and take them out to eat and drink. They even intentionally detain practitioners for an extended time so they can extort more money.
Fu Yanchun, Zhu Xianfu, and Mo Zhenshan are the key persecutors in the Wuchang Brainwashing Centre. We hope the WOIPFG (World Organisation to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong) investigates their crimes in persecuting Falun Gong.
