The Death of Practitioner Zhang Min From Torture
2001-12-19Han tried to force Zhang Min to tell him the source of the Falun Gong materials she had been distributing. Zhang refused to tell him. Han Yunjie hung Zhang Min on a heating pipe after handcuffing both of her hands. Then he savagely punched her chest, eyes and temples. He grabbed her hair and bashed her head against the wall. Both her hands were swollen and burned from the heat pipes. She vomited blood and passed out after the beatings, but Han Yunjie did not think it was enough. He poured water on Zhang Min to make her regain consciousness and then beat her again until she lost control of her bladder. The torture continued over some sixty hours. -

German TV Station Channel One Reports on Falun Gong
2001-12-14When the reporter interviewed Mr. Ma, the Chinese Embassy's spokesman, about the Chinese Government's persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, the spokesman explained that the forced labour education is only for education and alteration. The reporter then asked: "Then do you agree with the cruel torture?" The spokesman absolutely denied that torture had been applied to Falun Gong practitioners. What a pity that the spokesman of such a great country could openly tell such a bare-faced lie to the German public in the face of so much irrefutable evidence! -

2001-12-12Professor Mr. Rudolf Wagner concurs with [Mr.Zhang’s] views. He is chairman of the Sinology Institute at the University of Heidelberg. This scientist surmises further that, “The [Chinese] ruling party fears for their organization’s monopoly and lives by the dictum that people outside the Communist party might develop their own spiritual value system.” He sees the manifold critique by the PRC’s authorities as “preposterous.”Again and again one hears reports of arrests, torture and even killings of men and women who have done nothing [wrong] except practise the exercises together. -
Taipei Times: Cheering of US attacks - the result of propagandacies
2001-12-12Following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, officials and members of the public in China could be heard cheering the misfortunes of the US. One journalist at an official English-language newspaper called a friend, opening the conversation with the laudatory exclamation "Nice job!" The friend on the other side was left flabbergasted. Discussions on the Internet were even more outrageous -- "The blasts were skillful like no other, the imperialists all went running for cover!" "Using a plane wasn't strong enough; they should have used an A-bomb!" "Homage to bin Laden for exercising the will of the Heavens!"
