For example, Falun Gong is a practice that teaches people to be kind and to maintain a healthy body; its practitioners only practise five sets of exercises and follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. To be good people is a fundamental right of human beings but in China such rights have been taken away." -
Sweden: Practitioners Appealed for an End to the Persecution during the Chinese Foreign Minister's Visit
2004-04-18On April the 15th, when the Chinese Foreign Minister visited Sweden, practitioners gathered in front of the Swedish Parliament, appealed for an end of the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, told the truth about the persecution to the people passing by, and demanded that those responsible for the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners be brought to justice. -
Geneva: Zhang Cuiying Files a Petition against Jiang Zemin to the United Nations Human Rights Commission
2004-04-17At 3pm on April the 7th 2004, renowned Chinese Australian artist and Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Cuiying filed a petition to the United Nations human Rights Commission via human rights attorney Mr. Christ Nyst. The petition is against Jiang Zemin who initiated the persecution against Falun Gong in China. This is the first case filed by an individual to the United Nations on the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. -
Special Forum Entitled 'Slavery Economy in China’s Labour Camps' is Held in Geneva
2004-04-17The 60th UN Human Rights Commission is taking place in Geneva at the moment. A joint action organisation, consisting of international and Swiss NGOs, is seeking to carry China to a real democracy. The organisation's first special forum was held at “Family Society” in Geneva: "The Slave Economy in China's Labour Camps". -
UK: Falun Gong Practitioners Participate and Perform in the Edinburgh Easter Parade
2004-04-17The Edinburgh Easter Parade has become a special attraction during the Edinburgh Spring Festival and attracts many people to come and take a look. Falun Gong practitioners have been invited twice to take part in the parade. On April 11th, performances by Falun Gong practitioners were warmly welcomed by local people. -
Exposing the Persecution of Falun Gong in the Chinese Educational System During the Annual Meeting of the UN Human Rights Commission
2004-04-16On April the 6th, during the annual meeting of the UN Human Rights Commission (UNHRC), the World Women's Organisation (USA) staged a seminar on Human Rights in the Chinese educational system. World Organisation to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) president John Jaw, Falun Gong practitioner Zhao Ming and Australian human rights lawyer Christopher Nyst were invited to this seminar. -
Germany: Dafa Practitioners Clarify the Truth to People in Every District of Berlin

The Future of the European Union Forum: Jiang’s Lies Exposed
2004-04-16On the 7th of April 2004, the student union of the Free University in Amsterdam organised a public debate for candidates of the EU parliament presidency. The participants also included members of the EU parliament, important Dutch politicians from all parties, well-known professors, Dutch Falun Gong practitioners, the chancellor of the Free University Amsterdam, and representatives from many Dutch communities. -
Statement by the Falun Gong Association of the Czech Republic

Czech Republic: Members of the Czech Parliament Appeal to President Vaclav Klaus to Express Support for Falun Gong Practitioners during his Visit to China
2004-04-15Czech Falun Gong practitioners organised a Press Conference outside the seat of the President's Office. Several VIPs joined the appeal with a statement, “We join the appeal to stop the persecution of Falun Gong members and other prisoners of conscience in China and call on the President Mr Vaclav Klaus to unambiguously express support to these people.“ -
Yoko Kaneko (A Resident in Japan), Imprisoned in China for 1.5 Years for Practising Falun Gong, Gives Personal Testimony at U.N. Commission on Human Rights in Geneva
2004-04-15"My name is Yoko Kaneko. I was born in China. I am now residing in Japan. I am a practitioner of Falun Gong. I travelled back to China from Japan on May the 24th 2002. I was arrested and put in labour camp without trial only for handing out Falun Gong fliers on the streets in Beijing. I was released after one and a half years. Here I would like to share some of my sufferings while under detention." -

Denmark: Falun Gong is Introduced in a New Book of Theology
2004-04-15Recently, the theology department of Aarhus University Denmark supervised the publication of a new book, which details the background to Falun Gong. The publishing launch was held on the 26th March 2004 at the theology department of Aarhus University. The mayor of Aarhus attended the launch and gave a congratulatory speech. -
United Kingdom: Activities during the Edinburgh Easter Festival Celebrations
2004-04-14On Sunday the 11th of April, Scotland’s capital city of Edinburgh held a day of Easter celebrations. To accompany and complement the parade there were also several smaller performances on two outdoor stages, as well as a variety of stalls. Falun Gong practitioners staged several performances as part of the festival. -
France: Falun Gong Practitioners Invited by a Nursing School in Southern France to Introduce the Practice
2004-04-14In March 2004, practitioners were invited to a nursing school to introduce the practice. They started by introducing Falun Gong’s guiding principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance to the class, and went on to talk about the five sets of exercises. Practitioners also informed the class about the illegal and brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China.
