  • Ms. Yang Xiaojing Seriously Ill, Husband Cao Dong Still in Prison

    Hoping to rescue his wife Ms. Yang Xiaojing, on May 21st, 2006, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Cao Dong met with European Parliament Vice President Mr. Edward McMillan-Scott in Beijing. Mr. Cao informed Mr. McMillan-Scott of the brutal persecution suffered by himself and his wife. Two hours after the meeting, Chinese Communist regime security agents arrested Mr. Cao. Mr. Cao was sentenced to five years of imprisonment on February 8th, 2007. In August 2006 his wife, Ms. Yang was released after being abused at the Beijing Women's Forced Labour Camp. In July 2008 she was found to have lymphoma. She has sought help in making her voice known to the public, but Communist regime agents have been threatening her.
  • Jiang Xiqing Persecuted to Death in Xishanping Forced Labour Camp, His Daughter Arrested for Appealing for Him

    Mr. Jiang Xiqing was persecuted to death in Xishanping Forced Labour Camp. The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear. Seven hours after being notified of his death, his family found his body still warm in the freezer. Labour camp officials did not give any reasonable explanation for his death and had his body cremated without his family's consent. His daughter, Jiang Hong, sought justice through legal means. Officials in the Politics and Law Committee and the 610 Office did not want to be exposed further, so they orchestrated the arrest of Ms. Jiang.
  • Four Practitioners in Sichuan Province Died as a Result of Persecution

    Mr. Peng Guangrong, 61, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong after the persecution started in 1999 and was arrested by police and detained. He was taken to a Brainwashing Centre. He was mistreated in the centre, and the local officials withheld his disability-retirement fund. He was detained until his health had deteriorated badly and he had lost a lot of weight. He was released only after his family demanded his release. After his return, Wang Qiujun constantly sent people to his house to harass him. Mr. Peng died in October, 2003.
  • Elderly Ms. Dong Fuyun from Changde City, Hunan Province, Still Missing after Four Years

    Ms. Dong Fuyun, who is in her seventies was arrested in 2002 and taken to the Yuyuan Hotel Brainwashing Centre in Changde City. In 2005, she was arrested again while distributing leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. She was held at a brainwashing centre and was brutally tortured. On December 4th, 2005, shortly after she was released from the brainwashing centre for the second time, she mysteriously disappeared early that morning. The neighbours noticed that her door had been left ajar and that everything inside was turned upside down, yet she was nowhere to be found. Although her son and daughter have spent the last four years looking for their mother, they haven't been any closer to finding her.
  • Older Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Zhang Yuhua Dies under Persecution

    Ms. Zhang Yuhua, 63, had been detained four times, and she lost sight in her left eye while detained in 2003 as a result of the guards beating her. Her feet and legs were covered with bruises as a result of being kicked by guards, and these injuries caused a degenerative condition to develop in her knees. Ms. Zhang wrote many appeal letters to the Suining City Government, the Police Department and the Sichuan Province Police Department. The answer that she finally received was "the guards never beat prisoners." She eventually died on August 13th, 2009, deeply grieved.
  • Mr. Jiang Bingzhi Tortured to Vegetative State with Suffocation before His Death in Suihua Forced Labour Camp, Heilongjiang Province

    Mr. Jiang Bingzhi was persecuted to death in the Suihua Forced Labour Camp because of his refusal to give up Falun Gong. One day, a prison guard opened the door of Mr. Jiang's confinement cell and threw two handbags into the cell. His personal monitors covered Mr. Jiang's head with the bags, strangled him with a rope and started to beat him cruelly. Due to the suffocation and the cruel beating, Mr. Jiang went into a vegetative state during the torture. The labour camp kept Mr. Jiang in the labour camp for several days before he was sent to the Bei'an City Hospital. Mr. Jiang died in the hospital on August 26th, 2009, and his body was cremated.
  • My Life Hung by a Thread While Police Beat Me and Used Dangerous Methods to Revive Me

    On October 31st, 2001, I opened a banner on Tiananmen Square that read "Falun Gong is good". I was arrested and transferred to Miyun Detention Centre. One policeman slapped me very hard for a long time (the marks on my face did not fade for ten days). He stripped my clothes until I was in my underwear and began savagely beating me, I was quickly beaten to the ground and passed out. Policemen stepped on my fingers, and took turns pressing on my eye sockets. My life was hanging by a thread. The jail cell mates told me that I looked dead to them. They used a pungent gas to wake me up and took me back to the jail cell. By that time, it was 4 a.m.
  • Brutal Beating Fractures Lawyer Wang Yonghang's Foot

    Between 20 and 30 police officers arrested lawyer Wang Yonghang at his home in Dalian City, Liaoning Province, on July 4th, 2009, and subsequently beat him until the bones in his right foot were fractured. Mr. Wang had defended Falun Gong practitioner Cong Rixu in court. The lawyer's family is demanding his immediate release, but the authorities claim this case involves "state secrets" and refuse to allow Mr. Wang and his family to meet.
  • Ten Years of Persecution in Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province

    A former United Nations Special Rapporteurs on Torture, Sir Nigel Rodley specifically mentioned the following practitioners: "Kuang Bencui, from Jiaozhou city, Shandong Province, reportedly went to Beijing. Officials arrested her on her way to Tiananmen Square. She was sent to the Jiaozhou Liaison Office in Beijing and then to the Jiaozhou city mental hospital. While there, she was reportedly forced to take medicine and injections. When she refused, two men allegedly seized her arms, pinched her nose and drove a chopstick between her teeth, to force-feed her with unknown substances. She was reportedly force-fed three times a day, the dosage being increased from one tablet at a time to six tablets at a time."
  • Ms. Mu Yuru from Qinhuangdao Subjected to Brutal Torture

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Mu Yuru is a resident of Qinhuangdao City in Hebei Province. During the past ten years of persecution by the Chinese Communist Party, Ms. Mu has been detained in detention centres and labour camps, and subjected to brutal torture including, but not limited to, being brutally beaten, shocked with electric batons, put on the "tiger bench", handcuffed with her arms behind her back, locked up in small cells and suspended in the air by her cuffed hands.
  • An Outstanding Teacher in Hunan Province Arrested and Persecuted Six Times

    Mr. Lei Zhiyong was a teacher at the No.1 High School in Lanshan City, Hunan Province. During the past ten years of the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), he has been arrested six times and sentenced to six years in prison. During his imprisonment, Mr. Lei was tortured, including injection with unknown pharmaceuticals, sleep deprivation, and forced feedings. He has been released from prison but is not allowed to return to his teaching position.
  • Government Worker from Linghui City Statistics Bureau Arrested Again

    On July 20th, 2009, six policemen arrived in two cars, and broke into Mr. Jin Bowen's workplace and attempted to arrest him. At that time, Jin was taking time off at home, so police officers ordered his manager to call him back to work. The police then forcibly arrested him and took him to the Domestic Security Brigade in Linghai City Police Bureau. The next day, police officers ransacked Jin's home. They confiscated his computer, Falun Gong books and a large number of his personal belongings. The police have sent the so-called "case" to their local court. Mr. Jin is currently detained at Linghai City Detention Centre.
  • Tianxing Cries on Children's Day

    June 1st is Children's Day, a day when many little children go to parks with their parents or eat delicious food. However, 7-year-old Tianxing hasn't been able to see his mother in the past five years because she "left and went to a very far away place" on this special day in 2004. When he was only 22 months old, his mother died as a result of persecution. Tianxing misses her very much. Tianxing's father hasn't come to see him for a long time. Tianxing's maternal grandfather passed away not long after his daughter's death. In May this year, Tianxing's guardian, his aunt Feng Xiaomei, was sent to a forced labour camp. Tianxing, his maternal grandmother and his cousin have no source of income. Children's Day turns out to be a disaster day for little Tianxing who can only cry on this day.
  • Crimes Committed by Officers from the Chengbei District Police Station in Guang'an City of Sichuan Province

    Mr. Xu Renwu, 80, lives in Guang'an City. His wife Huang Zhihui, is 75 years old. Because the couple had persisted in practising Falun Gong and informing people about the persecution of Falun Gong and dispelling the state propaganda attacking the practice, they were persecuted by the police of Guang'an City. Mr. Xu was sentenced to three years in prison while Ms. Huang was sentenced to three and a half years. Mr. Xu and Ms. Huang are currently detained in the Chengbei Detention Centre in Guang'an City. Their relatives requested to meet with them and bring them some extra clothing but Zhang Qiang said that they were not allowed to see the couple due to orders from above.
  • Mr. You Xianbang from Foshan, Guangdong Province Secretly Sent to Sihui Prison

    On May 4th, 2009, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. You Xianbang was sentenced to jail for three years with a fabricated charge. Around July 15th, 2009, the police secretly sent him to Sihui Prison without notifying his family. Mr. You Xianbang had previously been sentenced to one year of forced labour camp between 2001 and 2002.
