  • Company in Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province Forced to Close Due to Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Persecution

    In 2003, several Falun Gong practitioners in Chaoyang City started a company named the Chaoyang City Tianzheng Detergent Company. From the very beginning, various departments in the company hired Falun Gong practitioners who were knowledgeable in different fields. Most of these practitioners had lost their jobs due to the persecution. In the three years after the company started, revenue increased each year. The managers of the company are a couple, Mr. Li Wensheng and Ms. Wu Jinping. On February 24th, 2008, Public Security Bureau officials forcibly entered Mr. Li's home, ransacked the house, took 10,000-plus yuan in cash and a bankbook with savings of over 20,000 yuan. The police then took Mr. and Mrs. Li into custody. Other practitioner employees were also arrested and the company was forced to close down.
  • Officials from Laishui County, Hebei Province Arrest Falun Gong Practitioners and Ransack Their Homes

    On March 11th, 2008, police from the Tingzhen Police Station and Laishui County 610 Office arrested four Falun Gong practitioners in Gao Village and Dachitu Village. The police also ransacked their homes. Police went to practitioner Ms. Chang Zhengying's home, smashed the door and pried open the lock. Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong, Chang Zhenying's home has been ransacked about 20 times.
  • Evidence That Mr. Bai Heguo Was Tortured to Death and Did Not Commit Suicide in Nan'guanling Prison, Liaoning Province

    On around January 5th, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Bai Heguo was tortured to death at the Nan'guanling Prison. It was disclosed that not only was there a bump on Mr. Bai's head, but there was also a cut on his tongue and around his mouth. His leg had been kicked until it was broken, and his testicles had been crushed. He was emaciated. It would appear that Mr. Bai Heguang was beaten to death. However, Nan'guanling Prison agents fabricated "proof" that Mr. Bai had committed suicide.
  • Ms. Hu Huoying from Jiangxi Province Detained Again; Her Husband Died as a Result of Persecution

    Since 57-year-old Ms. Hu Huoying suddenly went missing while in police custody on February 29th, 2008, her daughter has been unable to discover her whereabouts. Ms. Hu's daughter is extremely worried about her situation. On July 10th, 2007, several agents from the Duchang County Police Department attempted to break into Ms. Hu's home to conduct a search. Ms. Hu blocked the door and stopped them by saying, "You threatened my husband. He died because of your evil deeds. He was just buried yesterday, and within less than a day you come again to harass and persecute me."
  • Ms. Cui Yaning Arrested Again Following Two Stays in a Forced Labour Camp

    Ms. Cui Yaning, a Falun Gong practitioner, had already been arrested and in a forced labour camp twice before. In the forced labour camp she was subjected to torture at the hands of the guards during her five years' incarceration. On February 25th, 2008, she was arrested for the third time. Jinzhou City police officers were responsible for the arrest, although police issued the arrest order. Ms. Cui is now being held in the city No. 1 Detention Centre. She will be sentenced.
  • Artist Wang Deqian from Hebei Province Arrested and His Daughter Detained When Visiting Him

    At 5 p.m. on March 12th, 2008, Mr. Wang Deqian, a folk artist from Hebei Province, was arrested again by police officers from the Yi County Police Department and the Longmen Township Police Station in Laishui County. The police ransacked his home, leaving it a mess. Some art and craft materials were confiscated. Mr. Wang Deqian was sent to the Yi County Detention Centre. He has started a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Mr. Wang's oldest daughter went to visit him by bus, but the guards would not let her see her father.
  • Tragic News about the Xu Family in Pan County, Guizhou Province

    Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Dafa in July 1999, the Xu family has been targeted repeatedly. The CCP murdered the family's oldest son, and now, with the loss of the grandson, more pain has been inflicted on the family. On March 12th, 2008, 13-year-old Xu Dingguo passed away after many days of thinking of his parents, who were detained. He didn't even have a final opportunity to see his parents before he died. Guizhou Women's Labour Camp authorities did not allow his mother, Ms. Chen Yumei, to see her son before he died, nor did the Guiyang public security police, the procurator of the Yunyan District, the Baihua Mountain Detention Centre allow his father, Xu Qihua, to see him one last time before he was buried.
  • Mr. Yin Libin Sentenced to Three Years in Prison in Dalian City, Liaoning Province

    On February 22nd, 2008, the Xigang District Court in Dalian City sentenced Mr. Yin Libin to three years in prison. Mr. Yin and his family appealed the ruling. This is the second time the Court has held a trial against Mr. Yin. During the first trial, his family was not notified nor was he allowed to hire a lawyer. Mr. Yin wrote two letters two years ago telling his friends how the Communist party had slandered Falun Gong, that the persecution is a mistake, and that Falun Gong cultivators are trying to be the good people by following "Truthfulness- Compassion- Forbearance." The two letters were "evidence" against him in the sentencing.
  • Wang Zhongliang Arrested and Detained in Zhuanghe City, Liaoning Province

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Zhongliang was arrested by police in January 2008. He was detained in Zhuanghe Detention Centre, where he was beaten by the guards. In February, Mr. Wang Zhongliang went on a hunger strike in Zhuanghe Detention Centre. He asked for paper and a pencil to write a letter so that he could document his suffering. The detention centre chief agreed, but the guard refused to give Mr. Wang any writing materials. The next day, guard Wang Qingdi viciously kicked Mr. Wang in the head without warning, and then left. Later, Mr. Wang told officer Wang Qingdi that he felt dizzy and was having headaches. Wang Qingdi then dragged Mr. Wang out of the cell, and together with another guard they began to kick and stomp on his legs. The guards used force-feeding on him as a form of torture.
  • Seven Practitioners Recently Arrested in Yuryang City, Hunan Province

    Since March 4th, 2008, seven practitioners have been arrested in Yueyang City. At around 3 p.m. on March 5th, Mr. Xie Zhongyi (from another province) was repairing a motorcycle when more than ten plain-clothed officers stormed into his home. They arrested him without following legal procedures and detained him in the Yueyang City First Detention Centre on March 8th.
  • Additional Information about Mr. Chen Baofeng's Death as a Result of Torture

    At about 10 o'clock on the morning of March 3rd, 2008, a witness observed a black car arriving at the Wujiawa Detention Centre. Several police officers dragged Mr. Chen Baofeng, 43, out of the back seat. He was extremely weak, and his head drooped. Mr. Chen was without shoes and moaned constantly. According to an insider, he died at noon that day. His family knew that Mr. Chen had been very healthy before the arrest. The only explanation for his death within eight days of arrest was severe torture.
  • Eyewitness Account: Falun Gong Practitioners Persecuted at Xinhua Forced Labour Camp in Mianyang City, Sichuan Province

    Mr. Lu Zhiyong, a practitioner around 40 years old, was a forestry policeman. He was sentenced to forced labour twice. His wife is imprisoned in Nanmusi Women's Forced Labour Camp in Sichuan Province. Mr. Lu refused to comply with the guards' unreasonable orders, so they tortured him. Head of the Sixth Division Su Xin directed several guards to shock him with electric batons until he fell unconscious. After he regained consciousness, the guards handcuffed him to a metal bed frame and kept shocking him. Mr. Lu was then put into a separate cell for "strict management," and his term at the forced labour camp was extended.
  • Falun Gong Practitioners from Qian'an City, Hebei Province Shocked With Electric Batons Until Their Bodies Became Scorched

    Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials in Qian'an City rampantly persecuted Falun Gong practitioners before the 17th CCP People's Congress conference in 2007. The National Security Team arrested as many as 40 practitioners and their families and detained them at the police department, the detention centre and the brainwashing centre between September 28th, 2007, and October 25th, 2007. This number does not include those practitioners whose homes were ransacked. Many practitioners were shocked with electric batons until their bodies became scorched.
  • Ms. Li Xiumin Held in the Women's Prison of Hebei Province and Denied Family Visitation Rights

    Ms. Li Xiumin, a practitioner, was tortured in a forced labour camp and developed several severe diseases. In March 2007, she was temporarily released for medical treatment. On May 2nd, she was taken away again. She is currently detained in the women's prison in Hebei Province. The prison claimed that she would not be allowed family visits for one month. Staff from Shangcheng Police Station, the No.2 Detention Station in Shijiazhuang, the court, and Hebei Province Women's Prison have been making excuses and/or lying to prevent her elderly parents from visiting her for the past year.
  • Ms. Yang Xianfeng Dies under Persecution in Hubei Province

    Ms. Yang Xianfeng, 53, was a Falun Gong practitioner who appealed against the persecution and was tortured repeatedly. In detention police subjected her to sleep deprivation, forced her to stand for long periods of time, slapped her repeatedly, injected chilli water into her eyes and mouth, stuffed lit cigarettes into her nose, and stomped on her after smothering her with a blanket. Ms. Yang went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution and was brutally force-fed. She lost her life on on April 3rd, 2008.
