Mr. Cai Zhigang Died Far from Home as a Result of Persecution
2007-12-04
Mr. Cai was first arrested on October 21st, 2000. Police arrested Mr. Cai when he was purchasing materials for his employer. He was forcibly taken into custody then detained for more than two months in the detention centre. The police extorted 20,000 yuan from his family before releasing him, and his employer ended his contract without reason. He was arrested again in 2001 and tortured with a cruel method of "Carrying a Sword on the Back" for more than three hours at one time. Later Mr. Cai became homeless to avoid arrest. In the long three-and-a-half years he spent away from home, Cai Zhigang endured all sorts of hardships, especially the mental burden of the fact that his whole family had lost their source of income. Mr. Cai became sick due to the huge mental pressure and he died on November 17th, 2007, still far away from home. -
Mr. Li Xianchao Tortured in the Jiangbei Detention Centre, Chongqing
2007-12-03In October 1999, Mr. Li Xianchao, 32 years old, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. As a result, in November 30th, 1999, he was kicked out of school. He has been arrested many times. In September 2000, he escaped from the brainwashing centre. In 2001, Mr. Li was sentenced to two years of forced labour for carrying Falun Gong materials. In 2005, he was arrested again and taken to Jiangbei Detention Centre. Mr. Li Xianchao started a hunger strike to protest as soon as he was sent to the detention centre. He was bound onto a chair for several days. Three days later, they force-fed him. Five criminals pushed him against the desk and inserted a tube through his nose. Mr. Li screamed in pain. People did not recognise him because his face and body had changed so much from the torture. -
Jiang Jianxue Injured as a Result of Persecution at the Beijing Women's Forced Labour Camp
2007-12-03Dafa practitioner Jiang Jianxue from Beijing has suffered intensified persecution at the Beijing Women's Labour Camp for refusing to give up Falun Gong. She was forced to sit on high benches for long periods of time, until both her legs were numb and she could not walk properly and subjected to sleep deprivation. After a period of time, Ms. Jiang started to feel numbness and pain below her chest. Her buttocks festered and oozed pus, and she could not stand up straight. It was clear that she was badly injured. Under the prolonged physical and mental torture, Ms. Jiang developed insomnia and signs of delirium. She could only sleep after being injected with drugs and she appeared to show signs of an impending collapse. -
Mr. Han Zhong from Anhui Province Permanently Blind in His Right Eye Due to Brutal Beating

Mr. Han Zhong, a Falun Gong practitioner, has been brutally persecuted multiple times since the persecution began in 1999. Around November, 2006, Mr. Han was beaten so badly by several inmates and prison guards in Nanhu Forced Labour Camp that he became blind in his right eye. Even though he asked to go to the hospital multiple times the guards kept ignoring his requests and continued to beat him. His parents and family have also suffered from long-term threats and intimidation. -
Ms. Song Xiuyu Persecuted by the 610 Office and Public Security Bureau in Muling City, Heilongjiang Province
2007-12-03Ms. Song Xiuyu is a 67-year-old retired doctor and Falun Gong practitioner. For the last eight years Ms. Song has been subjected to psychological and physical torture because she would not give up practising Falun Gong. Over the past few years, the local authorities have extorted several thousand yuan from Ms. Song each time she was released from detention. On October 10th, 2007, three policemen forced their way into Ms. Song's home and ransacked it. They arrested Ms. Song, who is now, once again, in Muling City Detention Centre. -
Older Ms. Yang Zhengbi Dies as a Result of Long-Term Persecution
2007-12-02On July 17th, 2007, Ms. Yang Zhengbi, 54, was arrested by police while distributing leaflets exposing the persecution. She was detained in Dongxing District Detention Centre, and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents sentenced her to 15 months of forced labour. She was taken to the Zizhong Labour Camp, but the camp had to reject her due to her high blood pressure. Her husband, also a practitioner, was serving a term of forced labour in the Mianyang City Labour Camp. For the past years under persecution, Ms. Yang was tortured in the prison, labour camp, and put in detention centre many times. She could not even find peace in her home. This persecution severely hurt her mentally, physically, and financially. She died on November 6th, 2007. -
Older Mr. Su Ruixian from Langfang City Died as a Result of Persecution
2007-12-02In the past eight years of the persecution, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Su Ruixian was not allowed to work and live a normal life. Since the persecution began on July 20th, 1999, there was not one peaceful day for Mr. Su's family. Because he refused to give up his freedom of belief, Mr. Su was expelled from the Communist Party and fired from his government job. He was sentenced in 2000 to three years of forced labour in the Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp. In the camp, he was tortured by being handcuffed for two months while being locked in a small cell and shocked with electric batons. Once a guard whipped him with a thick nylon rope, covering his buttocks with purplish black bruises. His legs were covered with festering sores. He died on November 9th, 2007 at the age of 57. -
Wei Mingzhen Tortured in Shenyang City Women's Prison - Now Unable To Take Care Of Herself
2007-12-02On the morning of May 22nd, 2007, Ms. Wei Mingzhen (53 years old) and Ms. Xiao Shusheng (51 years old), were arrested when they were distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong at a market. On November 8th, 2007, they were sent to the Shenyang City Women's Prison. Recently, the families went to visit them in prison and found Wei Mingzhen's body was very thin and her face was pale; her health was extremely poor. The skin under her right eye was purple and an obvious sign of severe beating. By talking to her, her family got to know that she was brutally beaten in the prison and tortured. At this moment Wei Mingzhen is unable to take care of herself and has almost lost her sight. -
The Persecution of Ms. Song Weijue's Family from Shanghai
2007-12-02On the evening of November 8th, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Song Weijue, her husband Mr. Zhu Fanli and their daughter were forcibly taken from their home by police officers. Their daughter has now been released, but Ms. Song and Mr. Zhu are still being detained. During the eight-year persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), Ms. Song Weijue and her sister Ms. Song Weijuan have been arrested multiple times. They were sentenced and have suffered brutal persecution. Ms. Song Weijue is 50 years old. In 2001, she was sentenced to three and a half years in prison. Ms. Song Weijuan was given a heavy sentence of ten and a half years. -
Mr. Wu Jiuping Died as Result of Persecution in Anhui Province
2007-12-01On November 22nd, 2007, four thugs went to Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Wu Jiuping's home. Subsequently Mr. Wu died after falling from the fourth floor. The four left the scene without making any effort to help him. The details of what happened are under investigation. Mr. Wu's neighbour on the first floor heard a loud noise, thought something had fallen from upstairs, and found Mr. Wu on the ground. The neighbour called out for help and saw the four thugs quickly leaving, despite the fact that Mr. Wu was still moving on the ground. Sources said Mr. Wu was talking half-consciously after arriving in hospital. The left side of his face was severely swollen, and his left eye was almost blinded. His whole back and lower body were covered with bruises. His left pelvis was crushed, and his left leg was broken. -
The Persecution of Tianhe Chess Academy Principal Mr. Tong Huanxiang
2007-12-01Mr. Tong Huanxiang is the principal of Tianhe Chess Academy in Weihai. On October 11th, 2007, Mr. and Mrs. Tong Huanxiang and their daughter were just leaving a friend's house on the beach when a jeep started to follow them. After about six metres, a group of plainclothes police officers and armed police jumped out of the jeep and arrested them, claiming they were following orders. The police took them to a police station. Mr. Tong's seven-year-old was terrified and burst into tears. They were all detained. During their detention, the child repeatedly wet her pants because she was so scared. The police robbed them of their bags and confiscated all thei belongings in the bags. The police took their keys and ransacked their home and offices, including 50,000 yuan, without telling the couple. -
Mr. Xiong Jinze from Changsha City, Hunan Province, Has Been Missing for Over Ten Days
2007-12-01On October 31st, Mr. Xiong Jinze, a Falun Gong practitioner from Changsha City, Hunan Province, went out on business and never returned home. His family called his mobile phone many times but there was no answer. His wife carried their 23-month-old baby all over the place to look for him. There is still no news of his whereabouts. His family is greatly concerned about his strange disappearance and think it might relate to Changsha City's 610 Office, the local police, or the National Security systems, because these organisations had been harassing him. -
67-Year-Old Mr. Qi Tingsong Was Persecuted to Death at the Laiwu Detention Centre in Shandong Province
2007-12-01Mr. Qi Tingsong, a a 67-year-old retired teacher and practitioner, was tortured to death at Laiwu Detention Centre within only 20 days of his arrest. On October 15th, when Mr. Qi was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong in a village, he was arrested by police. Mr. Qi refused to cooperate with them and held a hunger strike to protest. Police officers savagely force-fed Mr. Qi. They kicked his lower back and seriously injured him. His upper digestive system was seriously injured from the force-feeding, resulting in severe bleeding. He was taken to the hospital on November 5th, and on November 6th, the Laiwu City Hospital issued a notice stating that he was in critical condition. He died shortly afterwards. -
Mr. Sun Depo Weak, Emaciated, and Disoriented from Torture in Wangcun Forced Labour Camp
2007-11-30Mr. Sun Depo, a practitioner, is being held in Wangcun Forced Labour Camp. He has been force-fed, beaten, hung by handcuffs, and tortured with other means. Now he is very weak and thin. He often has no feeling in his limbs, his eyes hurt, his reactions are slow, and he appears to be in a daze. In January 2007, police officers took Mr. Sun to the medical office in the forced labour camp, handcuffed his arms behind the chair and inserted a tube into his nose. The two stomped on the handcuffs with their feet for a long time, causing the already weakened Mr. Sun to pass out from the pain. From February 12th through 16th, 2007, Li Gongmin force-fed Mr. Sun once each day. -
Ms. Shi Xiangdong, from the Shijiazhuang City Religious Affairs Bureau, and Her Husband, Mr. Liu Xin, Imprisoned for Practising Falun Gong
2007-11-30On April 29th, 2007, Ms. Shi Xiangdong, a 37-year-old civil servant attended a work meeting that was hosted by Wu Xianguo, Party Secretary of the Shijiazhuang Party Committee. After the meeting, Shi Xiangdong kindly reminded Wu Xianguo that the things he said about Falun Gong at the meeting were wrong and would damage his reputation. As soon as Wu discovered that Ms. Shi was a Falun Gong practitioner, a few plainclothes officers emerged, and pushed Shi Xiangdong to the ground, then forcibly took her to a detention centre. The police also later arrested her husband, Mr. Liu Xin, when he went to visit her. Their home was also ransacked. On November 9th, the family was notified that Ms. Shi Xiangdong had been sentenced to three years of imprisonment, and her husband was sentenced to five years in prison.
