  On January 30th, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Lirong was locked in the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp workshop by guard Pei Feng and a team leader for refusing to recite the 30 disciplinary rules that criminals were forced to recite. Later, Political Instructor Ren Huaiping from the Second Division and the administration leader of the division Wang Shuzheng, locked her in an empty room and inserted high voltage electric batons into her underwear. They beat her breasts and chest, brutally torturing her.

• Changlinzi Forced Labour Camp of Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province Mistreats Falun Dafa Practitioners

  Practitioner Mr. Xu Qingshen was arrested on August 23rd, 2005, and sentenced to forced labour for two and a half years. He is detained in the Fourth Ward of the Changlinzi Labour Camp. He was forced to do exhausting physical labour such as picking up and moving food signs. Later he was forced to undergo blood tests. The nurse injected him with poisonous drugs. As a result, he is currently disabled and cannot take care of himself. The food in Changlinzi Forced Labour Camp is worse than pigs' food. The cooked food doesn't contain any sort of oil, and the rice is half-cooked.

• Lawyers for Falun Gong Practitioners Wang Bo and Her Parents Have Requested an Open Retrial

  Falun Gong practitioners Wang Bo and her parents who live in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, were secretly sentenced to jail terms in November 2006. Because the Communist authorities did not inform their family members about their arrest and trial, they had no lawyers to defend them. Recently, the family managed to hire lawyers who jointly requested the Shijiazhuang Intermediate Court to process the appeal openly and overturn the unlawful sentences passed in the initial trial.

• Gansu Province: More Information about the Arrest of Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Mao Wei

  On March 13th, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioner Mao Wei, an engineer at the Nickel and Cobalt Research Institute, took some photos of the Binhelu Police Station building in Jinchang City. The police there discovered and arrested him. In the evening, police officers went to Mr. Mao Wei’s house to harass his family. They searched their home and confiscated a computer. They also went to the home of Mr. Mao’s parents and searched their home. His mother was so shocked by the abrupt intrusion that she fainted. The policemen tortured Mao Wei at the police station. Long-term handcuff abuse turned his hands purple. His face was badly disfigured due to the torture. Then was sent to the Jinchang City Detention Centre on March 15th, 2007.

• Mother and Son Persecuted for Practising Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance

  Ms. Ouyang Wen is a 60-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner and a resident of Yueyang City, Hunan Province. On February 11th, 2007, policemen arrested her at her daughter's home in Changsha City. The police also searched her home in Yuyang City without a warrant and stole her private possessions, which were in total worth thousands of yuan. She is detained in the Yueyang City First Detention Centre. In 1999, her son was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment for insisting on practising Falun Gong.

• Ms. Tian Tao, an Elementary School Teacher in Shanghai, Demoted to Cleaning Toilets

  Practitioner Ms. Tian Tao was a teacher at Hongqiao Central Elementary School in Shanghai. She has persevered in practising Falun Dafa and has upheld her belief in “Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance.” As a result, Ni Yingdong, the school's Party secretary; Tang Xiao'an, the school principal; and other officials stripped her of her teaching position and assigned her to clean toilets. Ms. Tian can hardly keep up with this extra load of physical work. Wang Huimin keeps a close eye on her and finds fault with her for no reason.

• Mr. Li Qingbo, a Practitioner from Wuhan City, Hubei Province, Detained Soon After Being Released from Three Years of Forced Labour

  44-year-old Mr. Li Qingbo was sentenced to three years of forced labour and detained in the Shenzhen City Second Labour Camp. Right after he was released on January 31st, 2007, officials from the Jiangan District 610 Office of Wuhan City arrested him and secretly escorted him back to Wuhan City. Currently, Mr. Qingbo is detained in the Chenjiaji Brainwashing Centre. During the past seven years, Mr. Qingbo has been sentenced to forced labour twice and has been detained for more than four years.

• The Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Zhao Huanzhen from Shanhaiguan City, Hebei Province

  In December 2002, Zhao Huanzhen went to Beijing to appeal. After he was taken back by police and he was detained in the Shanhaiguan Detention Centre. Policeman Zhao Peng conducted eight hours of brutal, torturous interrogation, repeatedly slapping the practitioner's face so violently that his mouth filled with blood. The policemen cursed him constantly. When the food came, Zhao Peng kicked over the dish, forbidding the practitioner to eat. Furthermore, after they untied the rope, Zhao Peng braided the rope into several strands and ruthlessly slapped his forehead with it, making Zhao Huanzhen disoriented. He had not recovered even after two weeks passed. He was repeatedly tortured later.

  Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Fubin, 58 was persecuted so severely in the Lanzhou Prison that his previous illness of high blood pressure, cardiac disease, and enlargement of the veins recurred. His legs were swollen to the point where he could not walk. The guards refused to give him medical treatment inside or outside of prison.

• Practitioner Ms. Li Yanping Tried for the Second Time at the Laiyuan Court in Hebei Province

  At 9:10 a.m. on March 15th, 2007, the local court in Laiyuan tried Dafa practitioner Li Yanping. The prosecutor accused Ms. Li of committing a crime "against the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and government" because police had found copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party in her home. The prosecutor refused to admit her statement into evidence, which is that the police obtained their evidence by use of violence. When Li Yanping proclaimed her innocence, saying she was merely practising her faith but the court officials stopped her. She also stated during the trial that her health had deteriorated due to the persecution and that she could barely eat. The judge stopped her again.

  Lead guar, Shi Fengyou, asked me, “Why did you go on a hunger strike?” I told him, “We cultivators also have our human rights protected by the constitution. I demand unconditional release. Is there something wrong with using a hunger strike to protest the violation of my human rights?” He said, “Forget about it. No one has been released from the forced labour camp using a hunger strike. We have many methods to deal with hunger strikes.” They forced a feeding tube into my stomach. The tube they used was a thick and hard plastic tube. They force-fed me corn paste. Once the corn paste entered my stomach, I suddenly felt cold, and a tightening in my chest, then my heart started beating crazily and my body became very hot. I could barely breathe. I felt as if I was suffocating to death. Obviously, they had added something to the corn paste that caused these symptoms.

• A Call for Conscience: Appalling Stories of Persecution

  There was a Falun Dafa practitioner Zhou from Liaoning Province who was detained in Chifeng Detention Centre. One night during the detention period, the police took her to an unknown place. The room was filled with torture devices and the police used these devices on her all night long. The next day when she was taken back, all who saw her were shocked and dumbfounded. Her skin was cracked and her flesh was gaping. Her buttocks had been shocked with electric batons and it looked burnt and charred. She could not sit or lie down on her back and could only lie on her stomach. Her hair had been pulled so hard that she was left with only tufts of hair on her head.

• Practitioners Tortured with "Stretch Torture Chamber" at Weiningying Forced Labour Camp in Liaoning Province

  Since the persecution began on July 20th, 1999, about 1,000 Falun Dafa practitioners have been detained in Weiningying Forced Labour Camp. From 2005 to 2006, a special building was built to persecute practitioners, and thousands upon thousands of yuan went towards persecuting Falun Gong. Now about 18 to 19 practitioners are detained there and are monitored every day. The guards refuse to allow family members to meet with the steadfast practitioners. Heavy labour and starvation, plus torture, make it feel as though one day is one year. There is a small solitary cell called the "Stretch Torture Chamber," used to torture practitioners who have not been "transformed." One practitioner was stretched for over 100 days, and his face was swollen very large. When released, he was close to death and so was sent away.

• Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in Xinhua Forced Labour Camp, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province

  Dafa practitioner Mr. Lu Chunbin, is in his forties. He has been arrested and detained in Xinhua Forced Labour Camp twice and the second time, he was fired from his job. During the long period that he has been detained, Mr. Lu firmly resisted the persecution. He uses all kinds of opportunities to inform the criminal prisoners who monitor him about the true nature of Falun Gong, teaches them the principles of proper conduct, and answers their questions about different aspects of life. The criminal prisoners have come to truly respect and admire Lu Chunbin. He has been tied up, hung up with his arms behind his back, and brutally beaten. However, none of the methods and tactics used have worked against him. Thus, he was put in isolation and was detained there alone for a long time.

• Exposing the Hebei Province 610 Office's Strong-Arm Tactics As Seen Through the Suffering of Mr. Cao Jiwei and Family

  On February 21st, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Cao Jiwei and Li Zhenfang, who were already destitute and homeless because of the persecution, were arrested by police and taken to Loucun Township Police Station. Police beat them, searched their belongings, confiscated Dafa materials along with personal belongings and 5,800 yuan. Wang Jinshi, the vice director of the police station, dragged Mr. Cao by his hair and slapped his face hard, kicked his chest, tied a rope around his neck and stepped hard on his hands.
