  Ai Dan, a fourteen-year old girl, was a student in Hunan Province. She started practising Falun Dafa in 1998. In order to encourage people to follow "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance," Ai Dan began to promote Dafa to the teachers and students around her. One of the classmates who did not understand Falun Gong reported her to the teacher. The school officials tried to intimidate her, saying, "You have to leave school if you want to practise Falun Gong." Ai Dan was expelled from the school.

• Mr. Wang Zengcheng from Tianjin City is Beaten to Death in a Labour Camp for Refusing to Betray His Conscience

  Mr. Wang Zengcheng was a 41-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner from Tianjin City. In 2003, he was unjustly sent to forced labour for 2.5 years. In the beginning of 2004, when his term was close to expiration, he was beaten to death for refusing to write and sign the so-called "Repentance Statement." [statement giving up the Falun Gong practice] When his family examined Mr. Wang Zengcheng's body, they found that no skin on his body, except an area the size of an egg, was in normal condition. This was confirmed in the official autopsy report.

• Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Pei Cuirong from Hebei Province Dies from Torture

  Ms. Pei Cuirong of Hebei Province suffered inhumane torture in a labour camp in Tangshan City. Her body was black and blue from savage electric shock batons. One day at the end of 2002, she suddenly felt dizzy and lost her eyesight. She was sent to a hospital, but not long after she returned home, one day she suddenly lost consciousness. This happened several times until finally she passed away in late June 2003.

• Young Wife and Child Left Heartboken as 30 year old Mr. Wang Dayuan Beaten to Death in Harbin First Prison

  Mr. Wang Dayuan, 30 years old, was a teacher at the Computer Science and Technology Institute of Harbin Industry University. In November of 2002, the police unlawfully arrested him and ransacked his home. He received an eight-year prison term to be served at Harbin First Prison. He was tortured to death on April 5, 2004. The prison leaders tried to shift responsibility by saying that three criminal inmates beat Mr. Wang to death. We all know that the criminal inmates would not dare to commit such a crime without being ordered to by the police. The unexpected sad news brought Mr. Wang's family enormous pain. The young wife, young child, and elderly parents can no longer see their most beloved one.

• Ms. Yang Junping from Inner Mongolia Persecuted to Death in 2002

  Ms. Yang Junping was a 30-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Inner Mongolia, with a 12 year old child. After taking up the practice of Falun Gong she recovered from the late-stage cancer she had been suffering from. However due to several detentions her old illnesses recurred. The police demanded 2,000 yuan from her as a condition for her release on medical parole. In order to get her out, the family had to their mortgage their home to pay the police. After Ms. Yang returned home, the police still often harassed and monitored her. In August 2002, she passed away.

  Ms. Wang Shuhua was a 58-year-old resident of Tianjin City. Because she persisted in practising Falun Gong and clarifying the truth about Falun Gong, she was arrested on July 20, 2001. While in the detention center, she was mercilessly tortured. This caused her heart disease, which had been cured through the practice of Falun Gong, to recur. She was released 50 days later, but passed away on June 1, 2002 as a result of the persecution she had suffered.

  Mr. Liu Wenbin, 54, was an official with the Light Industry Bureau Supply Company of Xiantao City. After having recovered from various diseases since he started practising Falun Gong, he was happy to tell people the benefits he had received, even after the persecution began. Unfortunately he was thus arrested and he lost his job. Criminals beat, insulted him and he endured rigourous brainwashing. When his family came to talk to policeman Zhou Guohuai and explained to him that Liu was very weak. Zhou said, "I'm not afraid of him dying here." Later Liu was released but the police kept harassing him until he passed away.

  On September 29th, 2002, Zhang Yanrong was abducted and sent to Pi County Detention Centre. The police did not inform her family members. The week that her case was brought to court, she was subjected to various tortures. She was not allowed to sleep, and several dozen policemen took turns interrogating her, constantly shining glaring lights in her face. Because Mr. Zhao kept telling people about Falun Gong, he was sent to Xuchang City No. 3 Labour Camp by the police on August 7, 2003. Four months later, his family was notified by the labour camp that Mr. Zhao had died of a "heart attack." When his wife, Ms. Zhang Guirong, insisted on seeing his body, she was greatly shocked by what she saw.

  On February 27, 2004, fifty year old Ms. Zhao Fengyun, died after enduring long periods of physical and mental torture at Wanjia Forced Labour Camp. Zhao Fengyun was forced to do intensive labour, book printing for a printing factory. She worked from 6 am to 9 or 10 pm. There was a machine, JBE3-50, that emitted a very strong and toxic smell of glue. Under these conditions, Zhao Fengyun suddenly had a heart attack and passed away.

• Police Feign Apologies, Trying to Collect and Destroy Evidence of Their Persecution of Falun Gong in Maoming City

  Representatives from the public security bureau and the local police station in Maoming city, Guangdong province went to visit Falun Dafa practitioners who had been persecuted in the town of Aonei. They made apologies, hoping that they would not be prosecuted for their crimes in the future. They said that Dafa practitioners were good and it was a mistake for them to arrest practitioners. They asked the practitioners to hand over any evidence of persecution. If practitioners do so, however, they will have no evidence on hand for future lawsuits that would expose the persecutors' crimes.

• An Undergraduate Student Tortured to Death at the Harbin Prison

  According to reliable sources, an undergraduate student of Harbin Industrial University whose name and age are unknown, was tortured to death in Harbin Prison on the morning of April 5, 2004. Because he refused to write statements denouncing Falun Gong, he was put in the confinement cell. The police ordered four criminals to torture him. In order to cover up their crimes, the police carried his corpse to the prison hospital pretending they were giving him emergency treatment. His body was covered with wounds and there was no trace of food in his stomach.

  Mr. Liu's was forced into the Wulumuqi No. 4 Peoples' Hospital (Mental Hospital) by authorities with the Xinjiang Autonomous Government "610 Office". He was forcibly injected with drugs and forced to take pills that damaged his nervous system. Some doctors at the Wulumuqi No. 4 Hospital unconditionally followed the orders from the Police Department and persecuted Dafa practitioners through drug injections and psychological torture. After over three months of treatment, Liu Anhong's nervous system was severely damaged, resulting in lack of facial expression and slow brain activity.

• Cruel Force-Feeding of Dafa Practitioners in Shenzhen City

  Two jail doctors started conducting force-feeding on Falun Dafa practitioners who were on a hunger strike. One was male and the other was female, each about 50 years old. They often held up the nasal feeding tube, and threatened practitioners saying: "This nasal feeding tube was used before on patients with AIDS and patients with hepatitis. I don't care if you contract an infectious disease." the male doctor shoved the first practitioner to the ground and pressed him down, put the nasal feeding tube into his stomach, then put the bamboo pipe into his throat, causing excruciating pain.
